Anybody enjoy painting/drawing?

I have enjoyed drawing & painting since I was a kid but haven't done any painting in some years. I enjoy the complete immersion in it during working on a painting. Unfortunately, I have no real artistic eye i.e seeing a scene in an artistic/interesting way which raises it out of the mundane. I appreciate art as I appreciate music. Looking at a painting I can see the artist's vision & techniques used but it's like a good song - I'm in awe at the artists composition.

So like when you try to learn an instrument, you start by copying songs you like, I have copied some paintings by great artists - Van Gogh, etc

Some of my attempts attached This is a photograph of miniature paintings on table in the back garden

On the left is Van Goghs Dr Gachet - in the middle: Marilyn Monroe from Elton John Album cover Yellow Brick Road

On the right is a focus on a part of a Van Gogh self portrait.

I have others about the house which I'll take pics of if there's an interest.

Anyone else have this hobby & wish to share their thoughts/work?

Drawing is a strong interest of mine, and I have taken classes to develop the skill. It does make one slow down, step back, and "see" what is in front of them. Real-world demands have prevented me from continuing classes and practicing the last few years, though I hope to resume when retired. Perhaps one day I will post examples of my work.

I used to do pencil sketches but have not done so in a while. Toyed a bit with the drawing tools in Samsung Notes a few years ago, which was my most recent attempt at visual arts. My grandfather was a fairly accomplished oil painter (it was his hobby, but he he had some good training and lots of experience by the time I came along) but I never got into that. We have some of his work hung around the house.

Sorry, all I missed these comments -i agree it's a meditative thing, which also involves struggling with technique so relaxing but frustrating in equal measure.

Good to hear from those that enjoy art

Drawing is my passion. I have been doing this since elementary school and cannot imagine my life without drawing. Most of all I like to draw nature and still lifes, but sometimes I have no inspiration for anything. I know that many artists face this problem. When I can't find inspiration, I usually use kratom capsules (grab them here if you're interested: https://www.kratomcountry.com/). Thanks to them, I relax, my brain begins to generate new ideas and the drawing process becomes even more magnificent than usual.

Cyber has honored me with some of his sketches, and they're quite flattering.
