The HIV virus is almost ALWAYS manageable these days with combo-drug therapies... HIV/AIDS is NO LONGER a terminal illness... (Unless you live somewhere where such meds are unobtainable...)
(It's still not a good fucking idea...)
On a personal note, I look at people like Chuck Sheen and go, "Well, I'm not THAT fucking crazy!"

Sprite: "THAT'S how I look at YOU!!!"
I know I'll be sending some extra prayers to Denise Richards his ex wife and mother of his children.
The interview did say that he has known for 4 years. I'm sure he has contacted the people he remembers.
You sleep with people and all the people they slept with and so on.
He admits to not having protected sex and still admits to not having it.
I don't think he is WINNING now....
It would be nice if he used his celebrity to talk about the subject.
xo
I feel compassion for him, as I do for all people who have contracted HIV - no matter how it occurred. The new antivirals available should keep him manageably healthy. I actually would have thought that someone living his kind of high-risk lifestyle would have been tested regularly and not end up with a diagnosis out of nowhere after a bout of bad migraines. Hopefully it's a wake up call for others to stay on top of their own sexual health. Sadly, it can happen to anyone - there are high risk situations and low risk situations - but really, all it takes is one bad decision. Very sad, and hopefully he uses this as an opportunity to turn his life around.
Charlie has struggled with his inner demons for a long time. I can sympathize. I sure hope everything comes together for him and he can find some peace. There is something about him that is very likable and makes you want to pull for him to get his life together. This could be the wake up call.
Yes, AIDS is very manageable with the cocktail of drugs available. If he will take care of himself he should be fine.
A celebrity behaving so badly they make headlines, after which they do a series of interviews with all the major media outlets, until a personal tragedy makes them see the light and turn their life around, after which they do another series of interviews with all the major media outlets? Shocking!
I feel for the guy, as I feel bad for anyone who as health issues.
Actually, when he was acting so crazy, everyone who worked with him said he showed up on the set on time, knew his lines, hit his spots. He did his job, and I respect that. I don't care how he spends his free time.
Well I wasn't surprised to be honest. I agree with Liz you Reep what you sow. With all the information we have nowadays concerning std's unprotected sex will eventually catch up with you
I personally am with Liz, you reap what you sow, but I also don't wish harm or illness on anyone. If he has known as long as they say, I doubt he is going to change his ways all that much. My sympathy can only go so far.

He's so fucked up. I seriously hope he gets help. Really good, long-lasting help.
He knew this for FOUR years and told no one. And the only reason he's come forward now is because he's been 'outed'. This has been circulating as a rumor for months.
Think of all the lives he's possibly affected...and infected.
Luckily, as Ash said, HIV is fairly manageable. It's just a bad situation for all parties involved.

Think back to when Charlie Sheen was fired from Two and a Half Men .... May 2011.
Think back to when Charlie Sheen was going crazy with that TigerBlood bullshit (March 2011) and melting down.
Think back to that fucking crazy smoking out his nose, ears and whatever else .... September 2011.
All of that happened around the time his was diagnosed with HIV .... as he said he was diagnosed 4 years ago.
From my perspective, this was a guy not going crazy - but desperate because of his diagnosis.
How sad. A man become HIV positive but can't tell anyone because he's famous and is supposed to be such a stud. Life is over as he knows it. Then, he pays out hush money hand over fist for 4 years.
Sad.
Perhaps now, he can figure out with help how to live .... and live well.

Wonder if Charlie's HIV and the potential of passing it on, particularly in that he made a fairly slipshod attempt at informing all his various lovers, is in within Charlie's definition of "WINNING".
I'll reserve calling him a complete wanker for when his money and contacts cure him.
Thoughts: Only time you'll see his name & anything "positive" together. How do you continue from getting tossed off a hit show (killed, & brought back as other gender), then playing President in sequel to film you weren't in?!
Came home from brief time out today, & "Wall Street" was on when I turned-on TV... Embarrassed how long it took me to recognize him as who he is/was!
Also, saw "Men" episodes this week guest-starring Denise Richards & Chris O'Donnell... Hoped he didn't give her anything, & wished Chris could follow Trump from TV to reality, & "NCIS" could extradite Sheen & ban him from entering US again.
I'm saddened for anyone in receipt of this news, I wish them all well. I agree with Sprite...hooray for anti viral medication!
