What are your thoughts?

You reap what you sow.
The HIV virus is almost ALWAYS manageable these days with combo-drug therapies... HIV/AIDS is NO LONGER a terminal illness... (Unless you live somewhere where such meds are unobtainable...)

(It's still not a good fucking idea...)

On a personal note, I look at people like Chuck Sheen and go, "Well, I'm not THAT fucking crazy!"

Sprite: "THAT'S how I look at YOU!!!"
All part of the decline of civilization...there are countless examples. Wasn't this (for example) tragic!!

Brittanya O'Campo

The former Rock of Love Bus contestant has been sentenced to six months in jail for a 2008 incident in which she assaulted a woman with a "pimp chalice," TMZ reported Wednesday. O'Campo began her sentence at Ventura County Jail in Santa Paula, CA on Tuesday after she pleaded guilty to felony assault with a deadly weapon and misdemeanor battery.
"I will be locked up for 6 months [sic]. I can only get PostCards, no letters or packages," the 25-year-old wrote in a Christmas Day posting to her fans on Twitter.

O'Campo's victim reportedly needed several stitches to close the gashes caused by the blows by the chalice or "pimp cup," a flashy drinking goblet popularized by rappers such as Lil' Jon.
O'Campo, a heavily tattooed brunette with cheek piercings, was one of the final six women competing for Bret Michaels' heart on Rock of Love's third season but was eliminated after she spit and took a swing at first-season Rock of Love runner-up Heather Chadwell and attempted to start a fight with her. Chadwell and second-season Rock of Love winner Ambre Lake had returned to the show to help Michaels decide which remaining woman was the best match for him and were questioning O'Campo's ex-boyfriend about their relationship at the time. Rock of Love Bus aired on VH1 in early 2009 and ended with Michaels -- who recently proposed to Kristi Lynn Gibson, his on-again, off-again girlfriend of 16 years -- selecting Taya Parker.

It's manageable, but I'm sure women aren't going to be throwing themselves at him any more. He certainly lived a life where this isn't really that shocking.

Magic Johnson has lived with it for years.

About TWENTY years ago I contracted chlamydia and had to go to a clap-clinic to get fixed...

The doctor, (a woman although that's not really relevant to the story, except that she was really good-looking...) said, "We should probably test you for HIV while you're here..."

I LAUGHED!!! "I DON'T think that will be necessary," I said.

She said, "Well... You obviously have unprotected sex... Do you practice anal sex? Have you ever used intravenous drugs?"

"Test me," I said... (Shitting myself...)

As it happened, I was fine, but it WAS a wake-up call...

On the (unrelated) subject of pretty doctors...

A newly-diagnosed Bi-Polar person, I was having a smoke outside of a bar when I noticed a VERY pretty girl and her friend also having a fag... I was PRETTY drunk... I KNEW I knew this girl from somewhere, but I couldn't PLACE her...

In my CHARMING way, I said, "Look, hello and all, I know I KNOW you but I have no fucking idea how or why... I'm Stephen..."

She said, "Hi Stephen, I'm Jo, I'm your psychiatrist..."

(AND SHE WAS!!!)
I know I'll be sending some extra prayers to Denise Richards his ex wife and mother of his children.

The interview did say that he has known for 4 years. I'm sure he has contacted the people he remembers.

You sleep with people and all the people they slept with and so on.

He admits to not having protected sex and still admits to not having it.

I don't think he is WINNING now....

It would be nice if he used his celebrity to talk about the subject.

I feel compassion for him, as I do for all people who have contracted HIV - no matter how it occurred. The new antivirals available should keep him manageably healthy. I actually would have thought that someone living his kind of high-risk lifestyle would have been tested regularly and not end up with a diagnosis out of nowhere after a bout of bad migraines. Hopefully it's a wake up call for others to stay on top of their own sexual health. Sadly, it can happen to anyone - there are high risk situations and low risk situations - but really, all it takes is one bad decision. Very sad, and hopefully he uses this as an opportunity to turn his life around.
Charlie has struggled with his inner demons for a long time. I can sympathize. I sure hope everything comes together for him and he can find some peace. There is something about him that is very likable and makes you want to pull for him to get his life together. This could be the wake up call.

Yes, AIDS is very manageable with the cocktail of drugs available. If he will take care of himself he should be fine.

This!
A celebrity behaving so badly they make headlines, after which they do a series of interviews with all the major media outlets, until a personal tragedy makes them see the light and turn their life around, after which they do another series of interviews with all the major media outlets? Shocking!

I feel for the guy, as I feel bad for anyone who as health issues.

Actually, when he was acting so crazy, everyone who worked with him said he showed up on the set on time, knew his lines, hit his spots. He did his job, and I respect that. I don't care how he spends his free time.
Well I wasn't surprised to be honest. I agree with Liz you Reep what you sow. With all the information we have nowadays concerning std's unprotected sex will eventually catch up with you
I personally am with Liz, you reap what you sow, but I also don't wish harm or illness on anyone. If he has known as long as they say, I doubt he is going to change his ways all that much. My sympathy can only go so far.
He's so fucked up. I seriously hope he gets help. Really good, long-lasting help.

He knew this for FOUR years and told no one. And the only reason he's come forward now is because he's been 'outed'. This has been circulating as a rumor for months.

Think of all the lives he's possibly affected...and infected.

Luckily, as Ash said, HIV is fairly manageable. It's just a bad situation for all parties involved.

"What is the quality of your intent?" - Thurgood Marshall

i know a few people with HIV - they take care of themselves, they manage it, they are responsible about it and really, it doesn't effect them as much as you'd think - it wasn't that long ago when contracting HIV was a death sentence - hooray for science and medicine smile

You can’t truly call yourself peaceful unless you are capable of violence. If you’re not capable of violence, you’re not peaceful. You’re harmless.

Yup, and he was sowing plenty.
Think back to when Charlie Sheen was fired from Two and a Half Men .... May 2011.

Think back to when Charlie Sheen was going crazy with that TigerBlood bullshit (March 2011) and melting down.

Think back to that fucking crazy smoking out his nose, ears and whatever else .... September 2011.

All of that happened around the time his was diagnosed with HIV .... as he said he was diagnosed 4 years ago.

From my perspective, this was a guy not going crazy - but desperate because of his diagnosis.

How sad. A man become HIV positive but can't tell anyone because he's famous and is supposed to be such a stud. Life is over as he knows it. Then, he pays out hush money hand over fist for 4 years.

Sad.

Perhaps now, he can figure out with help how to live .... and live well.

Wonder if Charlie's HIV and the potential of passing it on, particularly in that he made a fairly slipshod attempt at informing all his various lovers, is in within Charlie's definition of "WINNING".

I'll reserve calling him a complete wanker for when his money and contacts cure him.

He's an ass if he has (had) unprotected sex while knowing he's HIV positive. I guess his days as the actor who always plays the chick magnet will be over now.

===  Not ALL LIVES MATTER until BLACK LIVES MATTER  ===

I do hope he is covered by medical insurance .. he sure as eggs won't have much money left after the law suits!

Feel really sorry for his ex girlfriends.. .. wonder who he'll take to the Oscars?
Thoughts: Only time you'll see his name & anything "positive" together. How do you continue from getting tossed off a hit show (killed, & brought back as other gender), then playing President in sequel to film you weren't in?!

Came home from brief time out today, & "Wall Street" was on when I turned-on TV... Embarrassed how long it took me to recognize him as who he is/was!

Also, saw "Men" episodes this week guest-starring Denise Richards & Chris O'Donnell... Hoped he didn't give her anything, & wished Chris could follow Trump from TV to reality, & "NCIS" could extradite Sheen & ban him from entering US again.
I'm saddened for anyone in receipt of this news, I wish them all well. I agree with Sprite...hooray for anti viral medication!
