Do you agree?

When I first saw Die Hard in the early nineties, I was still young, but I never saw it as a Christmas movie. The only Christmas thing about it was that it took place at that time of year. So, it featured a little Christmas music on there, so what? Its an action movie that defined a new era really of action movies. I watch it all the time, during the summer, in the fall and all other times of the year. Calling it a Christmas movie solely because of the time of year it takes place in, doesn't make any sense. I think for it be one, it really has to have Christmas being as some real plot point. As if Hans Gruber was stealing money from a charity that takes place during that time of year. No, he was stealing bearer bonds. Therefore, the plot would have worked at any time of year. Die Hard is not a Christmas movie, simple as that.
I don't know, it seems to represent Christmas in Los Angeles very well.
It's my favourite Christmas movie!
I have Det. John McCane Christmas tree ornaments.
I don't see it as a Xmas film at all.
A good movie but NOT a Christmas movie
There's a whopping big difference of being a Christmas movie and having a movie with a Christmas season venue as the setting. Die Hard is definitely NOT a Christmas movie, but then again, neither is Home Alone or some other Hollywood favorites.
While I frequently joke about it being my favorite Christmas movie, yeah, it's definitely not a "Christmas movie" in the traditional sense.
