Definitely a high point of the games. Athletes taking their mental, as well as physical, health seriously is something that is starting to happen and none too soon.

We have a hometown hero here in London, Ontario and I saw both her medals. She is 21 year-old swimmer Maggie Mac Neil and she won silver as part of Canada's 4x100 freestyle team, then gold in her specialty, the 100m butterfly (she was also the world champion in 2019). And set an Americas record in that event in the process. She's been swimming competitively here in London since she was eight and currently attends University of Michigan where she swims NCAA.
I loved watching Great Britain's synchronized divers take gold over China.

Kindness is contagious. Spread it! ❤️

Lydia Jacoby. A first-time 17-year-old Olympian from Alaska, a state that has exactly ONE Olympic-size swimming pool. An underdog who won the Gold Medal in the 100m breaststroke and, in the process, beat the defending champion, her teammate Lily King, who was the odds-on favorite and ended up winning bronze. Rather than mope about her Bronze Medal, swam over and warmly congratulated Lydia.
