You can’t truly call yourself peaceful unless you are capable of violence. If you’re not capable of violence, you’re not peaceful. You’re harmless.

This is literally my favorite song by Kanye...and many of his songs are faves of mine. He paints such a vivid picture and an accurate depiction...and he does it so simply.

Drug dealing just to get by
Stack ya money 'til it get sky high
Kids sing, kids sing
We wasn't 'sposed to make it past 25
The joke's on you, we still alive
Throw yo hands up in the sky and say "We don't care what people say."

I'll need to run blood tests then. Music lyrics in general have a lot in common with litterature/poetry. A song (of any style), is basically a poem with music. That's why I love music too.

you need to check out Russell Simmon's Def Jam Poetry series - it's spoken word, it totally will rock your world. or it should.

So literally no one has posted the Humpty Hump?

I can kinda agree, but that isn't even their best song. Freaks of the Industry is where it's at.

Others contributed as well.

oh well, black screen sponsored by corporate bullshit.

You went there. HUGS! Hip offs of the thread.
Hell 'ya, I went there. Punk rock helped reggae as well, and musicians use to trade licks rather than corporate backing. Love it when it's organic.

Cross breeding usually results in awesomeness.

Sorry bout that, but it's all good.

I completely agree. Some of the early 80s punk bands totally incorporated reggae. I agree too I like when music styles come together for something new and unusual.

Love me some EPMD. Too bad PMD thought E paid someone to break in his house back in the day.
