i don't know. maybe it's in the blood? i grew up surrounded by it, so a lot of it stuck - not even hard core, some people live and breath it. it's about the rhymes and rhythms... maybe it's why i started writing, or maybe, because i write, it drew me in more? and no, it's not about the fashions, that's just such an ugly stereotype, please.

I'll need to run blood tests then. Music lyrics in general have a lot in common with litterature/poetry. A song (of any style), is basically a poem with music. That's why I love music too.
