Hi, I've just watched this film again. Spoiler alert! If the wormhole and extra dimensions were made available by future humanity, the outcome would have to be that humanity survives or there would not be future humans to enable that. I know it's science fiction but that's a paradox, an intended one?

Another bootstrap paradox. Hollywood is rife with those. Planet of the Apes is the classic. Chimp scientists Zira and Cornelius escape the end of the world and go back in time to the twentieth century where their child leads the ape revolution that leads to the Planet Of The Apes. Terminator 2 has one, too (the parts from the original Terminator sent back in time by Skynet are being used to develop Skynet).

A strange little something for Halloween.
