Here are 2 that spring to mind immediately;

"The Wife", which I watched last night.

Glenn Close was excellent, and was awarded a Golden Globe for her performance.

Jonathan Pryce played his part well too.

The plot twist became apparent to me very early on. I think it was deliberately made fairly obvious so you were left questioning what on earth was going on in his mind for most of the movie.

"Henry and June" is one of my favourite movies, and is based on the lives of Henry Miller and Anaïs Nin. Deliciously sexy movie!

I've always been fond of Kenneth Branagh's early Shakespeare films, Henry V and Much Ado About Nothing. Very lively, spirited versions of The Bard's works.
Fear and Loathing in Las Vegas!

You can’t truly call yourself peaceful unless you are capable of violence. If you’re not capable of violence, you’re not peaceful. You’re harmless.

The Wife was a great movie. I actually didn't know that it was a book. I've never been so entertained by such a simple story. The acting was magnificent.

Generally, book fans will hate the movies but I see them as different mediums.

I have read a couple books recently that are being made into movies/mini series.

One is The North Water which will be coming out next year. It stars Colin Farrell. I like to think of it as a much more entertaining Moby Dick.

The other is "Devil all the Time," which features an allstar cast. It's a dark, southern gothic tale that I recently read. https://www.imdb.com/title/tt7395114/?ref_=nv_sr_1?ref_=nv_sr_1

I guess I can't suggest the movies yet, but I can suggest the books.
