Thanks Damon for the truth about superzero flicks. As a kid, I loved the aquaman cartoon. But it now seems, Hollywood ruins every character they touch. Sigh. Remember when Batman or Ironman we’re first released? Good times.
Shazam is coming soon... good Lord. Really???

Roma. I really enjoy this type of foreign movie. I knew nothing about it, and started watching it that way. All I knew was that it had won best picture at some awards show, and was also nominated for an Oscar. Well, I stopped watching and glad I did. I won’t ruin the plot for anyone that might read this, or still intends on seeing it. But after the movie theatre scene, I got a bad feeling. Then, the earthquake. And finally, the country gathering scene. I read a plot summary and am damn glad I stopped watching. It’s not a movie type I like to watch. I was hoping for a Hugo or Schindler’s List or something. Or even that no-talkie with the dog. I forgot what that was called. I really enjoyed that too. But not Roma. Too bad. And how much can one dog shit in one night FFS???

Took the kids to Wreck-It Ralph Breaks The Internet. Better than expected. It held my attention and played like a video game. It’s more than just a movie, but seriously, it’s just a kid’s movie.

Finally saw Annihilation. I really wanted to see this when it was released but never did. I think I understood the ending, but the whole plot seemed to be missing an ingredient or too. Just like making chicken noodle soup and forgetting salt and pepper. I did enjoy it, but it left me feeling it could have been so much better. If they were doing what the movie said they were doing, then they were the slowest moving ‘they’ ever.
In the theater the Green Book. It was very good. I especially enjoyed it because I still have a couple LPs of Don Shirley. On the web a movie called Tangerines. It's a powerful and different type of antiwar film and the acting is remarkable. The type that makes you forget you're watching actors playing parts.

Anything with Samuel L Jackson in is a hit with me. Love James Mcavoy in this. Very entertaining.
Saw a trailer for the new Captain Marvel movie too. Looking forward to that one.
got sucked into watching a B film called Locked Up
I define nothing. Not beauty, not patriotism. I take each thing as it is, without prior rules about what it should be.

Kissing your lips while straddling your lap.
Alita: Battle Angel - Was pretty great despite being schlocky in places.
On my way to see the new Lego movie. It looks AWESOME.
We saw A Star is Born last night. Not a huge fan of Hollywood blockbusters, but I loved it. Cried like a baby. Great cast. I have missed Sam Elliot. Gaga was really good, and even Andrew Dice Clay (!!!) was good.
I watched Stan & Ollie a couple of weeks ago and enjoyed it very much. It wasn't a laugh a minute but it wasn't supposed to be as it was them later in life having a go at making a come back after being out of the limelight for 16 years
Glass Kept me entertained and you can't beat the cast. I'd see any movie with Samuel Jackson, James McAvoy and Bruce Willis.
Ready Player One.
Beautiful film.
Eva Braun by Gianluigi Perhone and La Via Della Mano Sinistra. Can't make up my mind to whether it has merit or it is just bad cinema.
In the world's harsh wear and tear many a very sincere attachment is slowly obliterated.

Would you believe that it was another repeat of the "African Queen"? It popped up in the classics on TV a few nights ago. Humphry Bogard is my favourite actor and Katherine Hepburn not far behind,
I still believe some of the oldies are more entertaining.
