Lately I've gotten into podcasts. I typically enjoy things that are quirky, off-beat, humorous, nerdy, and/or educational.

I've been binge-listening to this podcast called "My Dad Wrote a Porno," (Soundcloud link) over the last few days. A British guy reads his father's amateur erotic novel to his friends who respond to it. Basically it's the podcast version of LS, but with far more snarky comments. It's a) hilarious, and b) should be required listening for all Lush authors wanting to improve their craft.

Don't believe everything that you read.

I'm badly behind on actually listening to it, but "quirky, off-beat, humorous, nerdy" immediately suggests Welcome to Night Vale. It's educational to the extent that you can probably pick up some good storytelling tips from listening to it. The team behind it have some books out, too.

That looks interesting. I'll give it a shot.

Highly recommend The Rialto Report. If you like x-rated adult film from the 70's and 80's this is for you. Their podcasts feature profiles, interviews, and discussions relating to all aspects of adult film from those two decades. New podcasts every other Sunday.
Turn me On, Canadian Podcast hosted by a couple in an open marriage, always interesting

We Canadians are sexy people. What else can you do when the snow is higher than your snowblower?
I recommend "The Joe Rogan Experience."

He has a good variety of guests. Everyone from writers, actors, comedians, athletes, pundits. They are long though. Usually 2.5-3 hours. I enjoy it because he stays away from the normal boring interview stuff. It's more of an actual conversation. Some are interesting, some are funny, some will piss you off. It all depends on the guest.

A few of my favourite podcasts are: S-Town, Guys We Fucked (the anti slut-shaming podcast), No Such Thing As a Fish, and Criminal.

Also I’m boosting this thread cause I want more recommendations
"A dirty book is rarely dusty"
Competitive Erotic Fan Fiction - Comedians write bad sex-stories and read them for an audience.

Some of the stories are just gross (and clearly wouldn't fit the standards of this site, so be warned). But if you can get through those, some are really funny (e.g. when the cast of Back to the Future create a temporal paradox, and end up cloning themselves and then engage in a large orgy with all of the clones).

Don't believe everything that you read.

I have enjoyed that one too, but as you point out it does depend on the guest.

Welcome to Nightvale is a great trippy, surreal one I enjoy as well.

Lol by CBC is another favorite. That may be because my husband is Canadian ( a Newfie to be exact)

WTF with Marc Maron

The Nerdist Podcast
Hardcore History is something I have been enjoying for a while now. Dan Carlin is a great and very interesting host.
Started a new podcast series last night. It was recommended on sf/fantasy/comic news site io9. Title is "Mission to Zyxx" and it's comic s-f in the vein of Futurama, but done by a group of improv comedians (ie. there's no set script). First episode was quite funny. They have one season of 18 episodes "in the can" and are fundraising on Patreon for Season 2.
