It sure didn't fit the cookie cutter mold of 99% of television dramas. Instead of starting with the plot as has ALWAYS been done in the past, they got creative and did the bulk of the character development right away. I actually found that quite intriguing. The show ended on the plot teaser.
After just one episode the characters are already deep and dark, certainly with some serious issues which should be a lot of fun. I found all of the four main the characters very interesting, but am most intrigued with Colin Farrell's brooding, corrupt, violent detective character.
I guess we'll see some serious plot development in episode 2.
