Apparently so, "Rivers suffered a cardiac arrest during throat surgery on her vocal cords at a clinic in New York on 28 August. She was rushed to Mount Sinai hospital in the city, and was moved from its intensive care unit into a private room on Wednesday. She never recovered consciousness.


Melissa Rivers confirmed the news in a statement: “It is with great sadness that I announce the death of my mother, Joan Rivers. She passed peacefully at 1.17pm surrounded by family and close friends.”

Since that's the case, I hereby am willing to offer Joan's daughter Melissa my deepest sympathies and let her know that death is a way of life and life goes on.

I loved Joan Rivers. This is very sad. She was a wonderful comedian.

I also enjoyed her reality series with her daughter Melissa.

I loved her Academy Award specials about how the stars dressed.

She will be greatly missed.
