my original assumption is that if i write something according to what i saw, not felt everyone will detect it, and go that ain't right, he clearly doesn't know what he's talking about, as with all writings (with the exception karl may, who never left the country and wrote a gazilion books about it).

well according to what all of you say sex stories that are written are not about sex, it's about something that's called sex, only it has nothing to do with what you do in real life, it might as well be buying groceries.

It has to do with your *imagination*
How well can you imagine what's going on? Then, how accurately and with as much detail write that down?

I've written:

International travel, murder among countless other crimes, drowning to death, anal fisting, and sailing.

I've never done any of those things. I've never sailed. I was on an island once so that's as close as I've come. I've never murdered or stolen anything, I've never gone ot jail, I've never been someone with split personalities, I've never drowned to death, I've never done anything related to fisting, etc etc etc.

But if I put enough effort - and dedicate enough time - I can imagine it in such great detail I can write it and FOOL people.

That is what writing is all about. Fooling people into believing you don't just KNOW - you LIVE it on a daily basis.

Sex is no different. It's the peak action of a story much like a sword fight (no pun intended but humorous all the same). Seriously: imagine - imagine - imagine.

Ask questions: what would it FEEL like? What would you THINK? What would she THINK? What would it taste like? Sound like? Smell like? Repeat - repeat - repeat these kinds of in-depth picking-apart.

And there you go . . . that's how you write. Sex, driving, fighting - doesn't matter. Close your eyes and put yourself into it.

Right now - as you know -the most popular book in the world is 50 Shades of Grey. Do you think that EL James, TV executive, has ever once experienced even a smidgen of what she wrote? No . . . she didn't.
If the writing was good I wouldn't care about your level of experience.
