I leave mine to anonymous voters. If someone really wants to vote me down over some petty issue then let them. It is only a number which in the grand scheme of things means diddly squat. I would think registered users are more likely to vote something down anyways.

I leave it anonymous. In exchange for allowing a larger audience to feel like they participated, I'll take the lumps, even though the lumps piss me off from time to time. It's not just for my stories that I get annoyed, but also on behalf of others who work hard to produce good stuff only to have jealous members- or 'couples' in one notable case- put so much credence into a top author ranking that they'll go around knocking stories down with 3-bombs, logging off so they can do it 'anonymously'. Congratulations, morons. Here's your prize:

It's supposed to be a fun type of competition, to reward and recognize quality. It's a shame that twisted people do their thing...and twist it around into something mean-spirited. That said, I'll still take the bad with the good.
