Hey everyone,

A few days ago I submitted a story and it hasn't as yet been published on here. I know it takes on average 24 to 48 hours to be published, however it has been a few days now and I see other stories have been published.

Anyone else waiting?

Hallo yourself...smiles

Ya could simply try to resend it again for publishing und see if it shows as in the system, if ya not try this already.
If it won't let ya resend it, then it should be there und may not have been checked by anyone for some weird reason.

I not know much about the work habits of the Mods who verify stories at Lush,
or if it will always ot still show in your ...My Stories... list if there was a problem when ya sent it.

But I think sometimes though if ya submit a story at a certain time when Lush ist having problems with resource sharing between servers,
your story may not have been received on the proper server,
und therefore not accepted because it does not have an allocation in memory assigned to do that,
didn't get flagged for approval to pass it off to the queue listing maybe, or it didn't get cataloged properly.
Even if it says your story was sent at the time, it doesn't mean it was properly received und cataloged unless the programming includes definite lines of code from the catalog showing it received,
it may be simply an automatic programmed response to you when ya clicking the send.
I'm speaking more from the programming und hardware side that Gav may be using of course,
und where your story actually goes after ya submit it,
rather than saying the proper preferred terms used by those who approve your story for publishing.
They aren't programmers that I am aware, und I'm not a Mod, but ya get the jest of it I hope...smiles

Send ChrisM or Simplyjohn a mail about it, or simply try to resubmit it...if it was me...smiles

Hi,

There is no story currently in the queue that was submitted by you. If you take a look at your stories list here it will show the current status of all of your works including those still to be verified:

https://www.lushstories.com/membership/my-stories.aspx

This would suggest that there was an issue during your submission and I'm afraid you will have to send it in again. There are about twenty stories in the mod queue at the moment so it shouldn't take too long to get it looked at.

Hi. I want to share a few things for your consideration.

I've noticed that you have a bronze membership. Gold and Platinum memberships get story verification priority. Those memberships get their stories bumped to the top of the queue. You might want to consider upgrading your membership for that, and many other benefits. I know when I submit a story, I want to see it posted ASAP.

Hint: Having submitted a well-edited, error-free story helps that cause.

If the submission queue is high, for example there could be a few dozen or more stories waiting to be verified, it WILL take several days. Even though there are dozens of moderators to verify stories, not all of them can or do so on a regular basis. Also, depending on the genre of your stories, that could delay verification. No mod if forced to verify in a category that they are not comfortable reading. They are all volunteers. None of them is a paid staff member. So, if you've chosen to write a story in a more risque category, it may, not always, but may take longer for your story to be reviewed.

Here's another contributing factor, however I don't think it's an official position of Lush. I could be mistaken. As writers, and mods are writers, we want to see our stories on the front page for as long as possible. The mods want to see your stories on the front page as long as possible. If too many stories are verified during a 24-hour period, that could mean a story gets published, only to be moved to the second page that same day. We don't want that. We want people to see our story and hopefully read it. Not everyone logs on every day. Not everyone wants to read something every day. So the longer a story stays on the front page, the better chance it will get to have that crucial first glance opportunity.

My suggestion to you is that if you do not want to upgrade your membership, then if your story has not been verified after a few days (three or four), contact Lush Admin. As Liz did below, an administrator would investigate. It is extremely rare, but sometimes a story does not make it to the queue. Gremlins? Ghosts in the machine? Who knows?

I hope my rambling reply helps you better understand the complexities of the situation, which is actually not that complex.
Mine hasn't and I have a few, may write "It's All About Jay," later today

Your story was in the verification queue but you asked for it to be withdrawn which was done.
Even in the times when I was not a premium member I seldom had to wait more than a day at the most. Perhaps I was always lucky. But I do recall thinking I had submitted a story, once or twice, only to discover that the story was still awaiting my submission.

I hadn't been clever enough to check My Stories. I had, simply, not submitted the story at all. It takes a while to learn the ins and outs of a site.

Wait a minute... PREMIUM MEMBER???

I must have missed that meeting. When did that title become available? Or are you referring to something else that has been classified as having premium status.

Asking for a friend.

I'm sorry. Were you not aware that one can self-title oneself as Premium?
I am definitely self-styling myself as a premium model.
