The word 'hubby'
Especially when there's no article in front of it..."Hubby is watching the game..."

And I thought I was the only one...for me it connotes something a little bit demeaning, in an eye-rolling but loving context. In other words, the way men are portrayed 100% of the time in tv commercials for household products: "that silly hubby...can't quite figure out the laundry..so here's the new color-safe bleach from TIDE!"

Yes, and then there are "the missus", "the little woman", "the wife". I don't like reading or hearing any of those terms.

Or when they say, "My SO", for Significant Other. It's like the spouse was reduced to a census category.
I'm so glad I'm not the only one that feels this waysmile

I actually like it but in the following context. As a technical acronym used to describe members of a committed but not state sanctioned relationship, like a marriage. I use it rarely but if I do it is in that context especially if my friends are gay/lesbian.

You nailed it. IMHO, they are ugly and demeaning words that imply ownership. Phrases like that will die out with men changing attitudes and much more importantly women not allowing it.
I hate the work sup...
"Haters make me FAMOUS!!!"

Sassy
Yo...bro'...sup
The same GQP demanding we move on from January 6th, 2021 is still doing audits of the November 3rd, 2020 election.
