If you look at my stories, I haven't posted in months, mainly due to my depression of several personal things. But, I was wondering if I should continue posting and sharing personal stories.

Any thoughts on how I'm doing now or if I should continue?

I haven't read any of your work, but I fight depression too. Sometimes I don't post for a long time. Other times, I have so much that needs to be written, it flows out of me easily. I've found writing, when I am able to form sentences and concentrate long enough, to be a healing and helpful thing. When I am very ill, but the desire to write is there, I often post. I usually put those sorts of pieces on Stories Space. They make for very dark reading, but it helps to send it out into the ether and leave it there.

I suggest that you do as I do, and try not to worry about what you post when. If you feel you have something to share, and the writing mood takes you, then write. And if, after writing, you feel you would like to share it, then do so.

Creativity should be a help to us, not a burden or worry. If you are not sure if you should share it, send it to a friend you trust, and ask their opinion. Writing has been part of my healing process at times, and we should be careful to try our best to keep it that way, not to let it rule us and become another on the long list of self-perceived failures.

Good luck!

I'm in sort of the same boat.

I can go for a while without writing when I get really depressed. I just wait and write when I feel like it so it doesn't feel like a chore. The depression eventually lifts and I can enjoy it then.

I'll mirror the comments above. I've been having a rough time of late myself, and I haven't been writing either. A few deadlines though have forced my hand, and I've found that getting back into it has improved my mood.

But while that works for me, what's more important is what works for you. If you think writing will help, then write. If it's just going to bog you down, particularly if you're writing personal stories, then maybe go for a walk on the beach instead. The best thing is to do something good for yourself that nurtures you.

As for your writing itself, I just checked out your last two stories and thought they were quite good, for what it's worth. They were interesting stories and well structured. I thought your imagery too was strong, and I had no trouble picturing the scenes. There were a few rough edges here and there, as there are for all of us, but the only way to smooth those out is practice, practice, and more practice. The more you write, the better you'll get. For someone as young as you to be writing as well as you are, you should definitely keep writing.

All the best.
My latest story is a racy little piece about what happens when someone cute from work invites you over to watch Netflix and Chill.

Actually, yeah...as others here have noted, you're not the only one who suffers from depression...I have for years btw...and I haven't posted anything here for a variety of reasons as well...

I agree with Miss Shy Daisy and the rest...if you feel like writing, write...if you feel like posting, post...there's no rule here says you have to post a certain amount per year or anything...and when you do feel like posting again...I guarantee, Lush will be here for ya'

I get that too, but I write as a way to fight it, and it feels good when I hear people liked what I wrote. Everyone just needs a outlet, something to fight it, and it's still not very easy to win the battle. Just keep fighting.
