My latest story hasn't been getting much response, good or bad. I have checked recent stories in the category over the past couple of months and most writers seem to be in the same boat i.e. there appears to be little interest in them. Maybe Lush is the wrong place for these type of stories or am I missing something?

Yeah, I think purely on numbers, it's certainly not a category that gets a whole lot of love. Sci-Fi/fantasy as a genre can be quite polarising, I find. I like it - and like reading actual stories alongside the erotica element, but I guess many folks just want to get straight into the sex and not worry about different worlds.

I had a couple fantasy stories in my previous incarnation but I find that if you can slot them into other relevant categories like Supernatural or Monster Sex (assuming the story elements are there to fit those categories), they sometimes do better.

Still, that doesn't work if you're doing Trek-like or other straight-up s-f with a sexual element. Those tend to be s-f pure and simple. If the people who do read them like them, maybe that's more important than getting big numbers on those stories.
