It varies, depending on how long the story is, and how long the backlog of stories waiting to be checked is. Typically 2-3 days.
If there's a problem, for example if the story breaks the guidelines or has significant grammar or style errors, you'll get a polite message explaining what you need to change to get it accepted.

Hi Jessie, welcome to Lush.
As Nicholas said, stories typically take between 2-3 days to be processed, however, due to the length of the queue at the moment, it's a bit longer. Gold and Platinum members have their stories fast-tracked to the top of the queue, and they get more editorial support from moderators. Please PM with any questions, if you have them.
