Orgasm fantasies

I have been reading a few erotic stories recently, mostly written by men.
When they eventually get to the sex, usually with a lot of scene setting,
the guy is masterful and manages to give the woman an amazing orgasm.

This is so unrealistic. I find that while orgasms do happen in casual relationships,
it is definitely not the usual. This kind of male fantasy makes their books
unrealistic and disappointing.

I try in my own books to reflect more of the usual experiences that we women
have with casual partners.
Your personal taste is your personal taste. Certainly can't fault you for that. Since you're writing the type of stories that meet your bar for suspension of disbelief, you're serving others who share that taste. That's the way to go about it, so kudos!

There are a lot of people who want that unbelievable, world-shattering orgasm fantasy, though. Other writers like myself are serving that market.

I suspect I am a bit more 'street' than most writers. Probably cos I was brought on a housing estate in Glasgow. Stories, of course, are fantasies but I like to keep closer to reality when I write about sex, drawing on my experiences.
Sure, there are all sorts of styles and genres in erotica. There's room for everyone.
Erotica tends to be fantasy. I guess you could write a story about having shit sex, but that doesn't tend to be a thing people fantasize about. That said, there are a few (okay many) descriptions of casual hook-ups that are just ludicrous:

"Hi, I know we've only just met, and I don't even know your name (though I've somehow figured out your bra size), but would you mind having rough anal sex with me?"

Don't believe everything that you read.

I just posted "Swap Meat", where the names are never revealed. She didn't find his out until after the fun was over — off camera — and he didn't know hers until four days later. LOL No bra sizes or anal, though.

But... ::Points at pen name:: That's more or less my wheelhouse. (Not everything posted here was actually written for this pen name.)

Yeah, I know just what you mean. Half the time, I have to help them with buttons or bra clip, and as for masterful, they act like their wife is going to walk in any second. The number of times I have had earth-shattering climaxes from casual partners can be counted on one hand, unless they take the time to really explore my body to find what turns me on.
Some need to learn that foreplay is more than "Shit, you're fuckable." It is rare nowadays for me to accept invites from single male strangers. When I read a story where the man comes several times one after the other, I find my laughter destroys the erotic mood.
Maybe this is why I never get anywhere in the competitions? Because I try to keep most of my stories true to life, or I have more lesbian love stories based on my own experiences, as I find I get more satisfaction from other women. It is also why I write more threesomes or group sex stories, even gangbangs, as I found long ago that at least with several partners, I can get satisfaction.

It isn't always unrealistic. Some women are fortunate enough to find someone who can give them many amazing orgasms. And as others have pointed out it is fantasy. I prefer to read stories about amazing sex
If all stories had to be 100% absolutely realistic, whole genres would disappear. Fantasy is the soul of fiction, even so-called "real world" stories.
I am a beginner, but enough women friends have told me this. I tried to establish an emotional connection first in my stories for this reason. I would be interested in other ideas to make them appeal to women.
pretty sure i don't want to read erotic stories about bad sex, thank you very much. lol

You can’t truly call yourself peaceful unless you are capable of violence. If you’re not capable of violence, you’re not peaceful. You’re harmless.

Some people have an awesome sex life. They meet very sexually open people who have and give great sex, and yes, their chances of orgasm are greater.

A lot of people fantasize about having a sex life like that.

Stories about bad sex are duds, and not only don't attract readers, but turn them off. Stories about great sex attract multitudes of readers and they love them.

I've known a lot of women who are secure enough with themselves to give and demand great sex. A great lover won't let her man quit until she gets her orgasm, too.

I do it in my stories and it's not about making them appeal to women, it's about making them good stories. A story that merely describes sex with no emotional connection or context isn't much of a story in my books.

You think that's fiction? Why do you think I gave up men? If I'm going to have rough anal sex ... well, read Plumber's Mate 01.

Looks like we're in for a nasty spell of wether.

I and at least some men take care of our partners, even casual partners. Even when writing pure fiction we write what we know.

I agree, if after five minutes of him rooting around she has an earth-shattering orgasm credibility is somewhat strained. It is, in fact, about as likely as me foreswearing women after a similar encounter. On the other hand, not all casual sex is an unmitigated disaster for the woman, real or fictional.

I think you need a better calibre of men, both in your bed and in your erotica.

OUCH! That sure doesn't say much for men, does it? Marie, I think you are right though, because I'm sure a great many guys fall into that group. To them, it's strictly a ME-ME situation and who cares about you. Now before I get lambasted by guys saying, "that isn't always true, I'm not that way," I said 'many men' not 'all men'. I've heard more than one woman on this site complain that so many guys will 'hit on them' without even taking two minutes to go and read the ladies profile. A simple little thing like that may have made all the difference in the world, but as I said, it's a ME-ME thing.

I've highlighted the one sentence that caught my attention. In real life, foreplay should start hours before anyone gets to the bedroom door, and here it starts with the author taking the time and effort to draw me into the story to such a degree that I fall in love with the heroine. When that happens to the extent that I become the hero of the story, then I know I've found a great story, not simply a good one. That is one I'll remember, and most likely I'll also remember the author's name. The whole story up to the point of the actual deed, is, or at least should be, foreplay in one form or another. That builds interest, intrigue and excitement.

I agree with several people here, while we all know it is a fantasy world we are about to enter when we start reading a story, I think there should be at least some semblance of reality. When I read how he came ten times in thirty minutes, come on, give me a break. You just destroyed any sense of enjoyment I may have had. After I see that happen by an author, the next time I'm skimming down a list of possible stories to read and I come across that person's name, there is a very good chance I'll keep on searching. For what it's worth, that's my but we all know what a penny is worth today, don't we?

! This is my 3,000th posting in these forums.
If you're feeling bored during this Covid-19 epidemic I’d like to suggest
you take a peek at a story I collaborated with SueBrasil, a brilliant author.
It's about a mistake in judgment a lady makes concerning a friend, based
on the hurtful words of someone that only thinks of himself. Will that
conniving person succeed in ruining a beautiful friendship, or will she see
through his lies? It's gradually creeping up towards the 30,000 mark
and we’d love any votes or hearing whatever comments you may wish
to make. It is listed in my profile under ‘FAVOURITES’ as Apologize.

There is a knack to undoing a bra quickly. I can undo most four hook bras with you hardly knowing I was there. I learned it from the boys who did it as a party piece. Some of them realised that the quicker they undo the bra the less ground they lose, and the sooner they can remove the panties. Chances are they have picked up other tricks to enhance the experience for the woman, like pussy licking, or how to play that perennial favourite, find the clitoris.

You are correct of course. If I didn't like it I probably wouldn't do it myself.

The point of erotica as a genre is to give the reader something to masturbate to. If you're not doing that, you're writing some other genre with some sex in it.

You're writing gritty Glaswegian non-female-orgasmic sex. If this is what gets you off as a reader, you're probably not going to enjoy fluffy bunny hyper orgasmic sex.

Even shit lovers can hold a vibrator. :-)
I try to write my stories with the element of erotic fantasy. Even the true stories I write with the hope that it draws the reader into the scene to put them right there where it's all taking place. I also get my wife's opinion on how the story flows so that it's not only from a man's point of view. It seems to work as I've had many votes and comments from male and female readers that have had fantasy orgasms reading my stories.
