Question for all the writers . What is the deal with showers ? I mean, I have nothing against them I assure you, however I find that in a vast majority of stories on this and other similar sites it is included to an extreme . Example " we took a shower,and had sex, afterwards we took a shower and went to sleep.After waking I took a shower..." . It gets so redundant. Is it just to stretch the length of the story, ?

Depends on the shower. If it's "and then we took a shower", it's just for verisimilitude. People set sweaty, sticky, etc. during sex so they tend to clean up afterwards. If it's a lengthy, detailed description, then it's generally what Liz is saying: Showers are hot, sex in the shower is hot, naked, wet bodies are hot. Which i heartily endorse. I have an urge to make a joke about getting things longer, but...

What I was going to say is that there are some writers here who try to keep things short and cut out stuff that doesn't advance the plot or explain the characters, and isn't sexy or entertaining.

Then there are others who have an urge to say exactly what the characters did at every second of the day e.g. mentioning every shower or exactly how they travelled from A to B ready for the next interesting bit. And every mundane thing they said all day.

I like the first sort of writer more...
