Writing a lesbian story when you are a guy.

I was thinking about writing a lesbian story, but I am wary as hell because I'm a dude and obviously don't think like a woman.
Also, although I have watched lesbian porn, I am wise enough to know that the porn actresses may not be having sex like real lesbians have sex and I personally have never seen two woman have sex live to make notes crybaby

lol.

Any advice? Should I bother? I do not want to be letting down lesbians and feeling their wrath because I made a typical male fantasy based lesbian story devoid of reality. Thanks in advance.

I think you should do so anyway, with a disclaimer. Something along the lines of:

This story is written from the point of view of a male with no practical lesbian sexual experience; everything is from my fantasies.

What the hell, you don't know anything about aliens from another galaxy, and you might be able to
craft a pretty good story using created characters from your imagination, set to conquest the planet Venus.

The same GQP demanding we move on from January 6th, 2021 is still doing audits of the November 3rd, 2020 election.

Are you interested in writing a story with a lesbian theme, or a story with female on female sex? As I understand it, a lesbian story involves the relationship and dynamics between women who are lesbians, and it isn't just about two women having sex.

Can you really write a story that would detail the relationship and the sex that is a part of it? That is what you have to ask yourself, I think, and make sure you understand that.

If you want to read a story that involves a lesbian relationship as observed by a man, I suggest you read this one. The Quarry It is very well done, in my opinion.

The other thing to do is read some of the stories in the Lesbian category here, and start to get a feel for the difference between stories that have ff sex, and stories that are about lesbian relationships AND sex. Otherwise, you're just going to be writing a male ff fantasy.

I also think you should read this story, as part of your research. My Emerald Universe

It is a love story written by one of our best writers here, and apart from being an excellent piece of writing, it is a story about the love that two people have for one another. They just happen to be of the same gender. You might wonder why I suggest reading it when you're asking about writing a lesbian themed story, but since it's written by a man for another man, from a man's perspective, it might give you some insight into what a person feels for someone of the same sex.

I agree with Gypsy about The Quarry. And, blush, thanks about MEU. I think the point is that when we are able to get inside our character, the gender is secondary -- the gender of the writer AND of the characters. Make the people real. Use your powers of observance. Own the characters. You might get some stuff wrong, but if you write sensitively, you will likely be forgiven for not being perfect.

I think that's a good point, and I really have to admit I agree with Gypsy here...though don't tell anyone...

Heck, I even submitted a story in the lesbian category here, about a young girl who goes to prison...but somehow it got moved to "reluctance"...go figure... icon_smile

Maybe next time I submit something in the lesbian category I'll go with Jeff's idea of a disclaimer...maybe something along the lines of...

This is just a fantasy of mine, which I wouldn't mind seeing made into a video...but really, I'm just a clueless guy...
