when talking to your girlfriends about how big someone is, how do you explain this, is it how far your hand reaches around or what? Do you take into consideration that her hands may be smaller or larger than yours? Also, what is good for you?

If someone is taller than me I just raise my hand over my head to indicate how much taller I think they are. If shorter, I put my hand on my body where I think they might come up to, (i.e., chin or boobage). If someone is overweight, I put my arms out in a round shape to indicate how far my arms would go around their stomach and puff out my cheeks. Kinda like that.

It's not an exact science, so I don't think differing hand sizes make much of a difference.
