What do our Disney heroines teach us as kids?

Disney taught me that I was a cute little baby deer....

What can I say, I'm twitterpated.
Disney also teaches similar things about animals...I like the films, but dislike the stereotypes.
wait...whaaaat? im NOT supposed to be a Pretty Princess? wtf?! ;)

Funny you should post this.

I was looking at Disney on youtube yesterday. Here is what The Little Mermaid taught me.

I've always liked Belle D= Cause she can talk to objects, like myself ;D!
I have always loved the character of Mulan !.. a girl who has never stopped to achieve her dreams ..

You mean, other than the fact that she had to pretend to be a boy to achieve her dreams?

Dont we all have to give up or change something to achive our dreams? wether it is time, money, comfort, careers, boyfriends or what ever you need to change to get to that place you always have wished for. At the end she got what she wanted and everyone knew she was a girl.

True, but having to effectively switch genders places that character in the same anti-feminist boat as the others. That without men (or pretending to be one), our worth is minimal.

Look at it in a different perspective; one of the first females to go undercover in an all man environment and even managed to avoid beheading when discovered. That and writing the answers on your arm before taking a bath isn't the best way to ace your exam
It's not just Disney...

I love Beauty & The Beast as a film, I think it's absolutely fantastic. However, it pisses me off every time that he turns back into the handsome prince at the end.

That's where Shrek got it right.
I loved Shrek!
The Disney movie I like is Mulan. they try to get her to be miss priss but she doesnt listen and by being herself (kinda) she got her man and saved China ;-)
yeah! also

bell teaches us that beauty doesnt matter... unless your a rich prince disguise as a beast
snow white teaches us to let stray animal into your house and become friends with random strange men
sleeping bueuty teaches us that when you fall asleep some guy is gonna come and kiss you

there is soo much bullshit with disney but thats cus people over think it. just take it as it is. a movie for little kids heart i still love them. forever a princess
Shrek was pure genius. It got everything right. Right down to the finer points....like how the world needs talking donkeys.
