For those who don't take part in the conventional mating ritual that's prevalent in certain age groups like clubs and pubs, how can meeting occur? so many good people seem to go unnoticed on account of this, I mean, nobody wants that energy in the yoga class of course, the shopping center or 'mall' is out of the question too because lets say you don't go there and if you do, its only to get what you need and immediately get out of there, to approach somebody on the street isn't normal or common either, infact it can easily be considered harassment to approach somebody (who I might add, is invested entirely in their own world) with lust unless you're selling something or have a business or charity oriented objective (apparently) or more rarely again, you need to hold a triumphant degree of radiance, confidence, back-story and physique all ready to fire off on cue and without hesitation. 1. So why is it so uncommon for women to initiate? and 2. What is acceptable 'follow-through' for men or whomever the initiator might be? a simple exchange of numbers (or usually the giving of a number only to hear no return) seems like a waste of time but is the most common playout.

It's especially hard for sensitive people like myself in these densely populated temples of conformity because we're increasingly aware and cautious of the expected gender roles and what that represents in terms of their impact, since the initiator role for men has become blurred with predatory behavior through years of a abuse of that power-stick men have held for so long - The contrary, sensitive model of people chooses to rebel against conventionality and at this point in time are unfortunately in a way banished because the existing sub-structure of society doesn't really support the new model yet (being as fast as its slowest member).. Thus the chosen model being the pre-dated one of the patriarchal and it's chosen in the broader sense of future generation blood lines too since courtship is largely played out in these conventional contexts, with only a smaller minority of women opting for that which is outside those lines of comfort and mediocrity etc and they are most often found in transient locations, just passing through at the farmers market, deep in the mountainous woodlands.. ones who represent a natural state of being on the path of self-empowerment which goes hand in hand with a lowered guard, less fear, less judgement, less apprehensiveness, less inhibitions, less sick, more vibrant and where the blue moon occurrence of a role play reversal is more likely whereby the women can indeed become the initiator, not just for courtship but just to share a part of their day, possibly inspire or uplift somebody with the spontaneous company and your individual essence that is more powerful than you give it credit for and which could be the pivotal point of their week of I dare even say, month or year! It seems so overlooked how profound real human connection is outside of regular dialogue such as the cashier banter at the shops, but even that can be elevated with the same principal in mind: Dissolving the notion of gender roles and stepping outside comfort zones. Otherwise we've nothing to affirm our existences but the car we drive and house/possessions that we 'own'.

The message this sends sensitive people who're environmental, probably vegan etc ..is to not bother, that or learn to love being alone because what women 'really' want isn't a sensitive guy, but one who's able to provide.. the fineprint under that overlooks what providing really means and has become distorted by TV and the like, where only the new car is the safe car for example.. this message also supports the slob's outlook too, after all.. "why bother trying to be good.. money is all that really talks", "she does everything for me anyway, all i have to do is lean on a shovel all day and come home half tanked expecting a cooked meal everyday without paying much or any attention to what's been happening for her and or what she's done with her day including but not limited to household cleaning that I immediately reverse with utter mindlessness within an hour of arriving home, then I cunningly turn the guilt back on her when she asks me nicely not to and to add insult to injury, I then demand she bring me a beer and shut up" I'd imagine 'making love' to be quite implausible at this point. I can safely say that it's the game players who get the girls, they who learn what your strings are and within a 3months review period, play those strings just the way you like until you're his own possession, to add to the others in this trophy, command and conquer dictated landscape. As a result they are largely who're voted to be the successors of this world and they know that which is why they tell any man who's peaceful and sensitive to harden up, eat some steak, watch some footy, drink some beer because that's what women really want, otherwise (and I quote) "you're a faggot".. there's probably even a good percentage of guys reading this post with the same knee jerk reaction mentality rather than properly listening which would have to be one of the most attractive features for men. I propose women don't hold enough discernment toward that courting process because they're the key holders now (Always have been I believe), they choose who's DNA is approved for succession or not.
I don't really understand the questions or what kind of response you're looking for.

I don't think it needs to be so complicated. You can meet people anywhere. Literally. ANYWHERE. At work, on the train, at a supermarket even (you realise you have similar interests when examining cleaning liquid or something?) Also, you don't start getting into a relationship with someone only because they're sensitive and rich etc. We're all human. We all have flaws and good things and bad things and most people accept that and work with it. Some people aren't nice and will get ahead but what kind of life is that anyway? You seem kind of angry and I'm not sure why.

Your point about women not initiating a date etc is relevant but less so these days.

Anyway, yeah. The world is pretty screwed up but it's still full of a lot of good people.

I don't even know what I'm talking about. I hope I'm not being insensitive.

I've met all the partners in my life in two places: work and school.

I've never done all that 'singles / dating scene' stuff. Just work and school.

Simple stuff. Conversation follows. Friendship and then a relationship.

Things that don't matter to me: appearances, gender roles, and whether or not he approaches me first. In fact, whether or not he's a guy hasn't seemed to matter too much either - just in the last 20 years I've been attracted to men more. Chicks were high school for me.

If I like someone, I'll let them know. In fact, I'm pretty sure at this point I'm extraordinarily blind to the examples you used of 'random sniper-attack pick up methods'.

I do the casual work acquaintance / casual friendship to relationship ONLY. A random dude picking me out of some crowd and telling me he likes me (AKA he likes the way I look - because he doesn't know me otherwise and that's all he has to go on) will just get a smile or a blush from me, maybe. Odds are that it might actually annoy me. If I'm in public and alone - like sitting alone at a cafe -
it's because I wanted to sit alone at a cafe and (usually) get my writing done. It's NOT because I desperately want to meet people.

If a guy is really interested in me he'll pursue conversations and let that just naturally go where it goes. I never feel obligated to people and I've never spent time stressing over labels and where I am with someone. I either am - or I'm not.

But I mentioned 'desperate' . . . and that's how some guys have seemed to me. So desperate to connect they're throwing all their sticks to the wind and seeing what lands . . . that's off putting. It usually is accompanied with conversations about 'oh my aching exes who didn't want to be with me' and followed up with 'but I'm tired of being alone' . . . The end message being sent is 'you looked desperate and lonely just like me so I was hoping we'd magically fill each other's life voids'. It feels insulting to me and it stirs one response only from me: I am not life void filler, so fuck off.

So my end advice: Don't wear desperation like it's a cologne. Other people will not fill a void in your heart or your life. If you can't be happy with life in general, you won't be happy with a relationship chiseled out of Sad Lonely Rock. "Someone" is not going to solve your problems, cure depression, make you feel accepted or loved. It can, in fact, do the exact opposite. Relationships are brutal. It could possible dissolve into two people either not getting alone, not continuing to 'fill the other's emotional voids' and will result in two unhappy people stuck together - or apart.

As for women not having respect for 'the dating process' . . . maybe the fact that you see it as a process is what's wrong in your life? Women and relationships aren't a process. Sounds like you're over thinking things. And I guarantee you it's obvious as fuck that you're analyzing every step of 'the process' before you even engage 'the female' in 'the initiation phase'.

Don't you ever meet someone in a setting that puts you in their zone routinely (work / school?) and have a conversation and then just FEEL drawn to them somehow? No effort, no analysis, no dating-potential-predictions engaged? Just you developing a connection with someone?
Metilda has made some truly excellent points in regards to your apparent situation. Heed them! You're making your analysis of conventional gender roles an excuse for why you're not successful at making a connection with the opposite sex. The type of male 'approach' which you believe is more successful than your sensitive demeanor may work in some venues with some women, but most good relationships don't start with a pickup line in a club. I'm in a relationship with 2 sensitive guys, so it's not like women don't find sensitive males attractive. Quite the opposite in my case. Aggressive alpha males get nowhere with me. Take your sensitivity out into the world sans the desperation. Women sense it a mile away! Likewise, abandon your stereotypes and preconceived notions of gender roles. Be indifferent to the goal of hooking up, and just communicate with people around you, showing genuine interest in their lives. I truly believe that you never find things you're searching for. They find you when the search is no longer a principle focus of your life. A lot of my straight friends have spent their lives searching for a great guy, while I've been searching for a great girlfriend, and I'm the one who always winds up with the great guys because I'm not looking for them!
