Probably you know this term "Let's go Dutch", Everyone pays for themselves. I am from Germany and it is common here. Even if she is your gf or wife, sometimes everybody pays themselves.

Since I am usually a 'prepared' date - with more than $1.00 in the wallet - I would not mind a time or two. It is not something I practice - having been in a society where one or the other pays for the outing. If it a new relationship - it is a good until you get to a diffferent level. For a serious relationship - not as a general rule going out. I prefer to alternate the tab.

Sometimes I hope that my friend DOES pick up the whole tab - I've forgotten my wallet or don't have enough room on my credit card for the expensive meal.
