I don't think it's about women having to step around this kind of thing. As CG and PA posted earlier, if they invite a man into their bed it's for one reason. To get laid. Having women think the same way on this just shows how easy it would be for anyone to make the assumption the OP did. And I don't see it as a strictly woman issue. If a man invites a female friend of his into his bed, she'd have every right to think the same thing.
The OP says he is staying at her house for a few days, that makes me understand that is not like she called him and told him come and sleep in my bed, but rather that he needed a place to sleep for a few days and she said yes sure you can stay at my house. This fact for me its what changes the situation, if she just have one bed in her house and she feel comfortable enough with him as a friend why shouldnt she invite him to SLEEP at her bed? in this case is when i say that i have cuddle with some male friends without wanting or needing anything else but to cuddle.
If im miss interpreting the OP's point and they did went out and she said would you stay in my house or something like that, then yes i would have thought that she wanted sex also.
just my
