Think about it this way, lots of the gal's who do it (on purpose, mind you) desperately need an esteem boost, so when a nice guy come's along and flatters them or whatever, it's a lucky break. I suppose there must be a continued high for leading the guy on.
It's never 'ok' to deliberately hurt another human being, physically or mentally, especially when it's without cause.
Yet again, and I say this in a way that is meant to be inoffensive, could you be forming too strong of an attatchment than is due?
This is why it's always important to be forthright about your intentions....it may not be pretty but most girls will respect your cojones to do so, and they might be just as honest as you. Depends on the gal.
Don't get downhearted, as my mother says 'There's someone for everyone'. Good luck for future hunts....and perhaps consider going after a different 'type' of girl, a smile can go a long way.

As long as there are people on Earth, those people will play games. And it isn't just in matters of the heart. Some people who have an advantage over another will use it to their benefit. Be it in everyday life, in business, in relationships, in family. Someone who is much more intelligent than his/her coworkers to play games at work. Likewise, many bosses love having their employess jump through hoops. Just because they can get away with it. Some people, men and women, like to find someone who is willing to give up most of themselves to have a relationship. They use that power to control. If you don't want to be toyed with, then don't allow it to happen. Simple as that.

I hate people who pay mind games, if you are interested than show it and if your not then move on. No need to play games. I always try to treat people how I want to be treated.
Dont get discouraged by this. There are a lot of great people out there who dont play games. But unfortunately, there will always be "game players".
BTW, men play games too! So lets not make it sound like its only a girl thing!
