that being said I hate to be the parrot in the room but telling him is the first step. if he doesn't like it you know. if he is curious you can take sprite's advice and start small (which is the best option anyway IMO, she is one smart woman) or if you are both ok with it you can ump right in the Deep end(which is a bad idea IMO as there is so much you would both need to leearn and know so as not to get hurt)
