I'm curious about exploring elements of this lifestyle.

I've been approached os LS by a number of people who claim to be dommes... each time it starts the same way...

THEM: hey, you want to learn more about this lifestlye...
ME: Yes
THEM: ok, requires a 'tribute' of $XXX then we can get started...

I feel like these are scammers trying to leverage my curiosity into a financial benefit.

I have not paid any 'tribute' and my question is this, Is this the 'normal' way the BDSM/FemDom lifestyle works?

I'm not interested in a FinDom situation... the banks have that part covered...

I'm not into the BDSM lifestyle and don't have much interest in it. But I receive these messages also. You should report the sender and then delete and block them. They are scammers. Oftentimes if you look at the profiles (under different handles) they are the same. That's the big red flag along with the request for a "tribute". Again, not speaking from expereince you might look into FetLife. It's considered a good source by people I know who are into the lifestyle.
