Since late last Friday (21st January), or possibly early Saturday morning, it would appear that some members are experiencing a range of issues with page loads and using the chat rooms, e.g. PM's do not work, can only send one message, can’t get to other rooms etc. etc.

The common factor with all the members, who have reported these issues, is that they use BT fast fibre 990 (or similar) or the package BT call Halo 3.

The development team are investigating and have posted this on the support open ticket page:

'We're investigating an issue relating to BT Internet / EE users experiencing intermittent page load problems or chatroom disconnections. Some users have found switching from Safari to Chrome resolves the problem. Although we believe the issue is out of our hands, our team are looking for solutions.'

I am one who has this problem and the only way i can resolve it is to use a VPN, i have also tried Chrome, Edge, Firefox, Safari and Opera all give the same result both on my 2 laptops and my Ipad when i am at home. Why i feel it maybe a problem with BT I also feel that it is partly site related as i can enter the site look at my profile etc its only parts of the site that seem to be affected, if it was wholly a BT problem i wouldnt be able to enter the site at all.

Hope that helps

The issues with bt Internet would surely be solved if you disables the WiFi on the device being used and used mobile data. However if you do this the fault persists. Surely this would suggest the WiFi hub is not the issue.

We've done this smile mobile data works, it's the wifi that's the issue. Most people using a computer to access Lush would rather use the WiFi they pay for to access it, rather than risk data charges for using their phone or other devices to hotspot.

Twas a good idea though. sad

I agree with Harley, I don’t want to use my mobile data, when I’m sitting at home using full fibre broadband at 600 mbs. That said I do have a solution by using my Norton VPN it’s just an irritation to me that’s all

If it works fine over a VPN, that would suggest your IP address is getting blocked or something. The VPN would change the IP your network shows to the site. Maybe a Cloudflare issue, since I know the new site uses it.

We've had several more members reporting these issues in the rooms over the weekend.

The development team have concluded that the problem with lost connections/page loads etc. is due to 'something on BT's side' and thus its out of our hands to resolve.

These are the workarounds/temporary fixes:

Switch your DNS (https://developers.google.com/speed/public-dns/docs/using), use a VPN or Chrome (it seems to route through Google's DNS).

Hi John! I know you miss me. Chrome still doesn't work for me, I have to use a VPN.

The above problem seems to have resolved itself as i can now access all areas without the need for a VPN , who knows who or what caused the problem but it seem to have gone >>>>>>>>>>>>> for now !!!!!!!!!!!! LOL

I believe, I am possibly wrong, that this may also affect members using TalkTalk because the latter use the Openreach network (BT owned) the same as BT/EE.

In work, we call BT "Broken Telecom" for a very good reason...

Just goes to show that they are as poor domestically as they are corporately 😜
