This happens when a member does not exit the room cleanly. It typically happens when there is a 'Lost Connection' and the member gets thrown out. After a period of inactivity the entry should be removed.

Top right corner of the chat room page is a brown door with a green arrow... hover over that and it says 'Leave room'... click on the door
. Using the Exit Door also triggers a 'Memberxyz waves goodbye to everyone' which is nice :).Perhaps you could pass that back to your friend.
