Just Wondering...

... Does anybody actually ever go in The Love Shack and The Love Lounge? Only, I'm new, and very shy, and nobody is ever in there when I am on. I went in the Lush Bedroom, as that seemed the most frequented place, but... well, I'm ...

People very kindly kept whispering to me, and there were so many I didn't know what to do with myself. I couldn't keep up with anything or anyone. I am aware I could make my own room, or just sit in one until somebody comes along, but I'm embarassed enough as it is, and I was rather more hoping I could just go and lurk in a room for a little while and get my bearings whilst not annoying anybody or giving the impression my braincell actually works on demand. Because it really doesn't, I'm afraid.

And so, I just wondered, does anybody go in the more general rooms? And if not, why not? Is it because most other people are elsewhere, or the other rooms better fit the description of why you are there? I'm curious about lots of things, but I need to start somewhere, and I was hoping for a more gentle lead-in. Sorry.

And if you aren't asleep yet, thank you for reading.

There are, at times, people in those rooms you mentioned.
I have to admit that for most people the bedroom works as both those general chat rooms.

If you feel overwhelmed by all the whispers you can actually turn them off in your settings on your profile. When someone then whispers you they will get an auto reply that you don't accept whispers.

It is totally acceptable to just lurk in the rooms. Very many do it and wait for an appropriate time to participate in a chat that is going on or for a topic they're interested in to be brought up.

I bet that one of these days you'll find someone sitting around in a general room, just waiting for someone to have a chat with.
Me? Oh, I'm usually in the bedroom or make my own room. Why, hm.. I suppose it's out of old habit.

I have not been in any chat rooms yet. I have planned to give one or two a try sometime. What do people chat about? Just general shoot the shit. That'd be fine.

I've found most all chat rooms in general to be totally annoying and boring. One on one or two for me!

@Buz, we talk about pretty much anything. Very often it's about ordinary life.
What we've done, what we're doing. Where we are from, how the time flies by. What you prefer reading.
There's also a lot of action. I.E: You can end up in a pillow fight and if in the wrong/right room a gang-bang.
You can share pictures with one another(much more "pornografic" than the forums) and share music and other clips from youtube.

It's pretty much like Lush is a town and the chat rooms are your nightclubs, pubs, cafés and kinky clubs. (At times we even have poetry circles. )

I will try and catch y'all on sometime. The pillow fight sounds super!

Valid points made Shylass... I tried out the chatrooms a couple of times when I first joined (I read the rules and decorum of chat first)
So I said hello and went to lurk quietly in the corner to see how things worked. I found myself booted out... TWICE!
I guess I didn't contribute enough within the first 5mins.
I've stuck with the forums since then to interact with other members in the Lush community.

BTW Thanks Catnip. I didn't realize I could shut off the whispers. They were a little overwhelming and confusing.

I'm not a chat room fan. Been here two months and I played forum games a lot. Only been to chat room a few times to observe, and always left within 2 minutes.

I do chat, but only with friends, who I have exchanged PM before, read his/her bio before, or knew his/her style from forum posts before. It's just my personality, I only chat with someone I feel comfortable with.

Thank you all very much for your replies. I belong to two other forums (utterly unlike this one, I might add!), and I always find peoples' posting styles interesting, as well as what they actually have to say.

Maybe I will try the chat out again.

Once again, I am very grateful to you for taking time to post. Maybe see you around...

I met my closest Lush friends in the chat rooms, but that was when I first became a Lush member, and before I 'knew the ropes' so to speak. Whenever I visit the rooms now, and that's hardly ever these days, I have to admit I find the chat banal and uninteresting. Maybe, however, it's me who's changed, and not the rooms. I guess what you look for on a site such as Lush changes with time and experience. Anyone up for a cyber-sesh ??!!

I can relate to your hesitation...I'm very hesitant to even post on these bulletin boards because I tend to think and rethink everything I write. I've been a member for almost a year and have only posted a handful of times (this is me branching out! lol)
There has to be a happy medium for me to be comfortable in a chat room...too aggressive will scare me off, but I'm not aggressive at all so someone else has to initiate the conversation. Maybe sometime I'll venture into one of them...but it would be easier with someone I "know." (Kind of like going in to a bar in "real life"! You need your wing man!)

swollen, I find the forums I use for my other interest also tend to be like that, I go through phases of interest (or lack of), as do other posters.

Thank you for stepping out and posting. I will watch out for you if and when I am brave enough.
