It seems like that the "soft landing" for the lounge has disappeared? Too much explicit language from guys and role play. You tell him to take it to another room and they tell you to screw huh. Embarrassing for some of the girls

For the last few years, I've done R & D work for UI "User interface" for Security Camera Systems and Point of Sale cash register systems.Dabbled in web design PHP, MariaDB, and UI scripting.
Just thought I would throw this in It seems to be the norm girls seeing that contacted me after reading this topic:
This is from a seasoned writer
" I saw your query in the forum,
something similar to how the Lounge is used these days.
No soft landing
No safe space anymore.
I have experienced that a lot of times."
---
Bad enough they get Unsolicited multiple PM's , They come to read Or show their Erotic artistry in their profile. Not to play, or be bombarded with sexual innuendos

Members can PM in all the rooms and it has always been that way. "They come to read Or show their Erotic artistry in their profile. Not to play, or be bombarded with sexual innuendos" - perhaps the chat rooms are not for these members I would suggest.

Such a pity. As I thought the chatrooms were for everyone, no matter what their preferences are.
I mean I love the chatrooms, as you well know John. But I don't go into the lounge wanting to see explicit language or roleplaying.
Can we please bring back the rule where "The Lounge is a soft landing room for general chats." I mean, we can go to other rooms like the Basement or the Bedroom if we want to see explicit language &/or roleplaying.

By the way, this is not the case. Not all members can PM in all the rooms. You need to be a paying member to be able to PM. Unless you are PM'ing with a chatroom moderator - non-paying members can PM with them.

Personally I am not keen on calling it a 'Soft landing room' but that's not relevant. For me it's 'Soft' because images are not permitted in that room. With all due respect to everyone, given the nature of the site... enough said I think. Furthermore we have never moderated 'explicit language' in any room so I am not aware of any previous rule you imply we had.
As I said above, report members who you believe are breaking any site rules including those specific to chat. Let's not forget members have the 'Block' feature.

Well I didn't know that... thanks for the clarification!

It's just how Lush is, I think. When I was a new member, my profile said that I was mainly looking for friendly chat. John was very quick to point out that maybe I shouldn't be on this site.

Understandably, I think, I am very unhappy with that statement. I do not believe, having checked my mail messages and support tickets, and I rarely message in the chat rooms, you and I have never interacted. Please kindly jog my memory.

It was one of those rare times you messaged in the chat rooms then. It happened in The Lounge. You said that maybe Lush isn't the site for me if I don't want cybersex, just like you alluded to here in your earlier post about The Lounge.
I have since deleted the screenshot since I decided to not report it. I had just paid for Gold membership and was worried that you would just delete my account if I spoke up.

What a shame you deleted the screenshot. I have just finished searching the chat logs for all the messages I sent in all of the chat rooms since 1st August 2025 to 30th November 2025 and none of those messages were directed at you. I assume therefore that you have me mixed up with someone else and that is where I will be leaving this conversation.

You were logged in with your chat moderator account. And your views are perfectly aligned with what you said to me in chat, as evidenced by your earlier post:

Yes, it is a shame I deleted evidence. Live and learn, I suppose.

The Lounge Chatroom was originally a 'Soft Landing for General Chats" Chatroom. When Lush migrated to the site we see today, back in September 2021, we were 'thrown' into the Lounge Chatroom & the Lagoon Chatroom (which is located under the Global Rooms Heading, belonging to the Swingers Heaven site & only accessible with a gold or platinum membership these days) when we clicked on the Chatroom Icon in the red bar above. The welcome message for the Lounge "Welcomed" us - the members of Lush - into the chatrooms with this message (& I quote the exact wording as I saved it to my device so I could paste it back into the chatrooms, when I was a chatroom moderator, after the chatrooms crashed, which they did frequently back then.)
Welcome to the Lounge Chatroom! Images are not allowed in the Lounge, this room is intended as a soft landing for general chats. Please check out our other rooms where images are enabled for a more full-on experience. Be legal, be lovely, be kind.

Never delete things. You never know when you might need it as evidence. I have many files on my device with private messages & Lushmail saved, dating back to September 2021.

Johanna - I, for one, am very happy that you did not leave Lush. And I'm sure I'm not the only one. I hope you've found many people to enjoy some friendly chat with. P.S. Please keep writing. You are great at it.
We have to look at the reality of where we actually are and we should also address the seeming expectation of a PG-rated "safe space" on a platform explicitly built for sexual expression.
We aren’t on a knitting forum or LinkedIn; we are on Lushstories.com where you need to be 18+ years old to join.
1. Context is Key: We are browsing a site where the main attraction is stories about people fucking each other’s brains out. We are here to read and discuss raw, unfiltered (to an extent) human desire. It feels contradictory to consume graphic content in the stories but then take offence when someone drops an F or C-bomb in the chatrooms.
From my perspective, "The Lounge" should be a place where we can talk like adults. Adults swear, we shout, we disagree and we use colourful language as a way of expressing both joy and frustration. Creating an artificial barrier where we have to sanitise our speech in a general chatroom feels inauthentic to the core values of the website. If we can handle the language in stories, we can certainly handle it in a chatroom.
2. Explicit vs. Abusive: There is a massive difference between explicit and abusive language.
We shouldn't confuse the two. Policing vocabulary makes the room feel sterile. As long as users aren't attacking one another, the language used should be as free as the content anywhere else on the site.
Venting about a bad day using profanity or making a crude joke is totally fine in The Lounge and anywhere else.
Targeting specific users, bullying, or harassment is never okay, regardless of the language used.
Explicit language, swearing, cussing, cursing, profanity... or whatever else you call it, should be expected as common place on a site like this.
Lush allows us to provide and express an extension of ourselves, but it is not an alternate reality where everything is pink and fluffy.

We come to lush to have fun. It is a sex site and sometime when people go hours without chatting in the lounge. It gets boring with people not saying anything. Yes some people get playful and I am one of them.
I use colorful language in the lounge and play around depending on who I am chatting with but I do try to keep it clean and make sure the person I am chatting with does also.
People have enough going on their real life. Do you really want to start telling people what they can and can not say in the lounge. Guy's are always going to send unwanted P.M. and ask for pictures. Some even ask for more and some of the women are just as bad.
If you don't like it I agree use the block button or only pay attention to who you are chatting with. When I am in the chat rooms. I am only paying attention to who I am with and close friends. Anything else someone says is there conversation not mine.
We are adults on a sex website. It amazes me how many people say they are leaving but don't. It's like they want someone to say no don't go stay. It's your choice as to what you see and put your energy in. People being in the lounge is good and chatting is good. It's better than them sitting there and not saying anything for hours.
In my opinion it is very sad that adults have to be reminded that we are adults and should act that way. Treating each other with respect and dignity can make a difference to someone. People have a variety of reasons to be on a site like Lush. To assume we know why someone is on Lush before finding out can create issues, problems and conflict. If people would treat others the way they want to be treated, then Lush can become an even more amazing platform.

Pros and cons:
Pro: wouldn't need moderators.
Con: wouldn't have a great team of moderators.

Yes I have a chat moderator account for the purpose of testing related to my role here. Rarely used. So the same search, as above, of the chat logs for any messages sent by the aforementioned account:
'No results'
