So ladies... your boyfriend/husband asks you to dress up as a sexy character from comic books/science fiction and go to a convention dressed in a skimpy cosplay outfit where thousands of nerds will be drooling over your near-naked body, following you around the convention floor hoping to see a wardrobe malfunction.

Or maybe you're a single comic book fan yourself, and have a talent for costume design. Would you have the confidence to expose yourself like these girls to a throng of basement dwelling, sex-starved nerds?

And guys... how do you behave in a convention setting with sexy cosplay girls walking around? Do you ogle and join the throng of guys who follow them around, or give them space?

As someone who can get quite "careless" with the way I dress from time to time, knowing that men AND women are sneaking peeks at me, it would not bother me to dress up as a so-called super hero at a Comic-Con. I just wish I had the body to pull off some of those outfits. I still get a bit dizzy when I see the Big Bang episode where Penny dresses as Wonder Woman.
Beffer without a doubt you would pull it off nicely. Go for it but don’t forget pics!
I have never really been a part of the con scene, even though I'm into a lot of the media (RPGs, s-f) that it celebrates. It was less of a thing in the eighties when I was in my prime geek period. I did go to Fan Expo in Toronto with my son a few years back when he was more seriously into gaming but the cosplay there was pretty tame. Thus, I only see sexy cosplay in pics like those. To be honest, I find a lot of it more ridiculous than sexy. Part of that is probably me being unfamiliar with the characters portrayed (anime is not my thing and a lot of cosplayers are into it) and part of it is that outfits that are drawn sexy in anime or computer games are less so in real life where you have less control over where body parts move and when. I think a barely dressed cosplayer would get my attention more out of the shock of seeing someone dressed that way in public than from lascivious intent, though maybe that would change if I was in a setting where there was a lot of it.
I have been to many con's and I usually give them space. I never been one of the oogling mindless oafs that follow them around and try to cop a feel or take pictures with them.

Yeah, I've heard plenty about the sexual harassment that goes on at cons through various channels. Even of women not cosplaying. Geek culture does seem to have some issues going on in that regard (e.g. Gamergate), though I'm not sure if it is really any worse than other segments of society or not.
Wonder if their BF would let the girls dress them up for their entertainment?
I admire those who do cosplay.

As for myself, if I go clubbing I wear alternative clothing.
