Seems there a more than 200,000 members of Lush and from this sample you would think all of the members read profiles before requesting or accepting another to be a friend.

The empirical evidence indicates fewer than 10% of the readers actually read a profile before making a request. If they did they would not be showing what they are showing or asking what they are asking.

My delete key is almost worn out!!!

From what you say most of our member can not read? Never thought of that.p2N6WbVQerxFroLe

i don't read profile who is not my friend smile am i that bad in reading? hehehe it just felt like very personal if i don't know or have talked to them, thats all... and sending or accepting should have communication between the parties and you understand the person on the other side...

I always do. . .especially if their an author I like to read. It goes vice-versa too; if some sends me a friend request I check out their profile to see what they're about. It's annoying when people send me a friend request and they have nothing on their profile. . .

Well there's a profile and then there's a book.
Most people will read the profile components that are visible at the top - but won't scroll to hell and back to read the *entire thing*

True, a lot won't bother and will send you cock photos 'til they're blue in the nuts. . .but if it bothers you that much then that might be why.

When I've been asked to be someone's friend; I actually look at their profile, seeing if we have the same interests and so on.
but I what I find out, when talking with them, I feel they haven't really read my page, even when I tell them what am here for, they still sling a deafy (Scottish slang, "not listening").

ok, some may feel, I complaining, as I'm not. But maybe not everyone is here for the sexual innuendo!

what is your view?

reverse the question to the people accepting the friend request

I think maybe you need to look at it another way. People here gather information about other people here by reading a person's bio AND by seeing what else is on the person's profile. What stories they have read and voted/commented. What stories they've written. What forum threads they've posted in. What kind of pics are posted on their wall by friends. But your profile is set to full privacy (which is fine and totally your choice), but reading bios, fave movies/authors/books/etc... is just a part of the full equation.

You say on your profile, "i'm here to have my stories read and liked if they get posted." Yet all of your stories are hidden behind the privacy block. Maybe people are requesting friendship with you so they can read your stories. If you want them read but no one has access to them.. what else are they to do? Maybe you haven't written any stories yet, I don't know because I can't see anything on your wall besides the bio stuff.

I understand the need for privacy and security, it may be the most important thing for you. Maybe you have pics you don't want all of Lush to see, but your friends can. You can make those private while at the same time opening up more of your page for the casual viewer to glean a little more information and to fulfill your desire of having your stories read. Also, unblocking your forum postings would allow interested viewers to see where and on what topics you've posted, thereby learning more about your interests.

I hadn't realized my profile was set to full privacy. And by you saying, I taken you had a little look, lol
My stories are written, just having a hard time getting them approved!
and as for photo's, it's just my avatar, there... no dirty pic's, lol. then in saying that, I have 2 kids around me, so would like the dirty pic's to a minimum, or with-in underwear

I always look at and read the profiles of those I send friend requests to.
There are loads of girls out there who just want to talk only with other girls. Going through some profiles help me understand some of their interests and if they happen to coincide with mine I send a request in the hopes of becoming a friend. Not just a pseudo friend who I will never talk to, but a friend who will talk back and share there interests with me and manage to make a connection. If they add and just don't respond back ever, there is always the delete button.

Every time. That is the point of them.
Just a couple of examples.
After all, a female av / pic is often used by males.
A lot of women, both straight and lesbians, have aversions to male friends.
Why antagonise unnecessarily.
Rather respect and pass comment if justified, but leave it at that.
Of all our inventions for mass communication,
pictures still speak the most universally understood language.

I always want to read apersons profile before accepting them as a friend . How can you be friends with someone who has nothing to say about themselves .
Although my best friends are very sexy , it is their intellect that binds them to me as a friend .

I always read the profile before accepting a friend request and before sending one. I'm not going to send a request to someone who I have no interest in and I think would be not be interested in me.

Personally, I rarely send out friend requests but if/when I do, there would have to be something particularly intriguing that sets them apart from the rest on here that would warrant me making the first move. I'm sure like many women on here, I get lots of friend requests (men out number women on here after all) and not only do I ALWAYS read their profile but I'm especially interested in reading their introduction email that accompanies their request - no intro, no add. Is it really that hard? Like my profile clearly states, I'm very selective about who I friend.

I am not only reading their profile but i need to talk with them before i send or accept a friend request. I need to feel there is potential for friendship, I like quality not quantity.

Most always, sometimes when they give a good score on one of my stories, I don't really read their profile at the time but do read them, like to see what other people are wanting or are about. I'm such a nasty guy that nothing bothers me. ha

I read profiles and hope to see some pictures. Find many very interesting. Interested to see if it is woman writing about lesbians or a man and also if gay stories are written by women. Seems women are as fascinated about men having sex with men as men are liking to see or read about women having sex with another woman. Anyway, I enjoy the stories and the contact chats I have had......

Always. You should know something about A person before you become their friend. In the cyber world or the real world.
There is an old joke that fits here though. Half the army reads comic books & the other half just look at the pictures.yegLwJCbw7G9lwMg
