So I was exchanging a few casual messages with a fine member of the lush community and "friend" (although I've not gotten a chance to talk to, and get to know them)

And she asked what I was into.

not being very bright, I said I was into water sports (among other things) - totally clueless that on LUSH, "water sports" can have a few different meanings.

I was referring to sailing, surfing, water skiing, wakeboarding, wind-surfing, etcetera; but, obviously, that was going to be taken a different way given the context.

Anyway, by the time I realized my mistake (a minute later) the person had split (or blocked) or whatever.

Good lord am I stupid sometimes.

If your "friend" had been thinking, they would have asked you for a clarification. I knew immediately what you were referring to.

Really? Good to hear. I guess she didn't, haven't heard another word since. Perhaps she didn't like me for something else, but that was the last thing I said before getting iced.
