Usually they are good, even unexpectedly good due to the raw passion and excitement of being with a new person, but that generally leads to it not being the last time you’ll have sex with that person (unless other external circumstances prevent you from meeting again), and thus not really being classifiable as a one-night stand anymore.. in my opinion.

ONS are not something I've cultivated, but I've put myself in situations where an ons was likely to result. It was either exceptional or sad, or any point along the spectrum in between.
