It reminds me of Kate Winslet's house from the movie The Holiday, haha:

That would be kinda perfect!

...just not in Surrey.

Thank you. I am an architect by trade. But also owned and operated a manufacturing company. I always gravitated toward high end kitchen design but could not find competent craftsmen. So I bought the equipment, hired five guys and started my own. It grew and grew and we started doing the stars places in Malibu and Beverly Hills. It was fun but became a monster to manage and I sold the business five years ago.

You are very welcome. All i ever "built" myself is a little house made with Lego, lol.

Working the wood always fascinating me, god knows why...

I bet it was thrilling to see your company grows that way and yes sometimes it gets out of hands, difficult to manage as you said and now you seem pretty laid back, relax. Big reward for your hard work!
Live and let live
Talking about woods, just love and adore Frank Lloyd Wright, what an inspiration and dont forget, he was more than an architect, he was an interior designer. The tables, the chairs, the light fixtures, the armoirs, the intricate woodwork, the windows, EVERYTHING was created by him, he was a genious and he is still the best in my book...

That said, Falling Water, see the stones infront of the fireplace, so powerful or the Guggenheim Museum, all curvy and perfect-pure-natural light (i know, i have been there) are still very accurate, modern as if they were built yesterday! He definitely set the trend: the Nature Indoors.

Haha, I knew I've seen this before.

I researched it, and yep, I was right: that's where this crazy shootout happens in the movie The International.
Typical architecture from my city. We have a lot of these exterior staircases over here:

Growing up, I've always wanted a reading alcove by the window, an indoor hammock and a loft bed. I love how the following two pictures execute these features in a very adult/urban-chic way... Love also the feeling of warmth that comes across even though a fair bit of the decor is in darker hues.

Not quite my style, but these tables/desks are pretty original:

I am going to admit I don't like our current style of Architecture or Interior designs and style. I find them cold, square and ugly.

Myself I like styles from eras prior the 90s.

i adore ceilings...

i like interesting stairs too.

I love Architectural Digest. I like this. I like some modern styles but prefer classic better.

and yachts. lmao

and circular staircases. I also like styles from the 70's and 80's and 90's. It's like when there was effort to make it look as nicely as possible.

I really looove the house in Sleeping with the Enemy, where that couple lived. All that glass. To die for!

I love Sally Field's New York apartment in Kiss Me Goodbye. To die for. I like the decor, everything.

Can I live here, at these beautiful places?

Maybe. Lol

Another lovely abode I like.
Will post pics but how I have my home furnished is with vintage Edwardian furniture, taxidermy and blk/white everything w/ a dash of willy wonka meets pee wee herman.

When I end up purchasing a home--it'll be worse. More taxidermy/edwardian/victorian/horror.

If H R GIGER and GUILLERMO DEL TORO had a baby home--that would be my home.

interesting fact about the pink brownstone: the original owner had it painted pink while his wife battled breast cancer. sadly, she lost the fight. it remained pink until the owner's death. unfortunately, the current owners had it redone.

i'd happily reside in either abode?
