I don't know about others, but I like my clothes to smell nice. Some years ago I was told that if you spray some of your perfume on a tissue when you put your things in the dryer then you clothes will come out with a faint tinge of the scent. I often do it and it works. Who has other suggestions?

Have you ever tried Downy 'Unstopables'? They are amazing... basically they're little super-scented pellets you add to your wash (just sprinkle them directly into your wash). They leave clothes smelling fantastic - long after they're hanging in your closet. And you can use them on clothes that you can't use fabric softeners on (eg. fleece). I'm all about fresh scented laundry. I even have a few perfumes (from the CLEAN line) that mimic this scent.
The turquoise coloured one in "Fresh" is my favourite. Highly recommended.
I've experimented with different scented detergents and fabric softeners as well, with mixed success (even high-end brand Caldrea was a huge disappointment) but nothing holds 'scent' better than the Downy Unstopables. Other brands have recently come out with similar scent-boosters as well, but I haven't tried them yet... I'm kind of hooked on the 'Fresh' scent.

I have used perfume a few times when the underarm stuff has worn off.
Never thought of using it in the dryer though. I must try that. How come the tissue doesn't put fluff over everything. I would use a hanky or cloth.

I use the Purex Crystals in my wash (lavender or fresh water something scent) and Bounce with Febreze in my dryer. I think the Gain UnStoppables are essentially the same as the Purex Crystals, with a wider range of scent.

I use Comfort Pure softener. The white one makes your clothes smell lovely, but I use it sparingly cos it's quite concentrated. I like my towels to smell nice too and I put more in when I wash them.
