What do you use to tame those locks?

"What is the quality of your intent?" - Thurgood Marshall

To work...or out & about...

For dates, interviews, special events...

Both tend to break down with perspiration, & extreme physical exertion. But the Crew bounces back after a shower or dip in the pool/hot tub, much better.

I use these on my hair, it keeps it really healthy and I think that argan oil does wonders for dry and dull hair.

Here's the standard line-up:

John Masters Sea Spray - for beachy waves

Aveda Hang Straight - to comb through wet hair.

Marrakesh Oil - for final flyaways and frizzies on freshly dried/straightened hair. And I love the scent of this.

Biosilk - same as for flyaways and frizzies but I'll apply this to wet hair and it's cheaper than Marrakesh so I use it more liberally
instead of the Hang Straight for nights when I *need* that super pin-straight look.

And most importantly - my GHD hair straightener. I've used a few different straighteners and this is the best brand by far.

Now with the Sea Spray, does your hair have to be wet for application? I wanna do a beach wave look, but my hair would have to be straightened...and it can't be wet. And I know you have longer hair because you've mentioned it a few times. I have long hair as well, so how do you distribute the spray?

Ooh... I'm not sure how it would work on already curly hair.

Basically you can use this product on wet or damp hair. They say it's fine on dry but I feel it distributes best on damp/wet hair. You mist it on your hair (it's like a non-aerosol spritzy/mist) and then you turn your head upside down and just scrunch and play with your hair and let it dry naturally. I would think that if you straighten first and then mist this when it's still a bit damp it might work? Basically this is the effect of going into the ocean so if you like how your hair goes after that, then it will look great.

There are also tons of sea-spray recipes online if you want to make your own. Really this product is saltwater and lavender. For the most part if you make salt-water and put it in a spritzer (like a hair spray bottle) and maybe add a touch of hair oil to control frizz and a bit of scented essence (like lavender oil), you'll have the same product for free.

One thing is that it can be drying because it's salt water and you definitely don't want to overspritz and make it gucky so just be moderate with it or start out lightly. I have long hair but it has a bit of a natural wave so when I use this, it just pumps it up and goes beachy/wavy/mermaidy.
I have very curly hair. AND live on the beach...this does not leave my hair crunchy or heavy. Shame I did not discover it in high school eeeeek!

Don't be silly. You're taller than me. You can just stand behind me and use the mirror space above my head.

But yeah, I would totally eviscerate your counter space.

If I were standing behind you in 'our' bathroom, I wouldn't be fussing about with my hair.

This is the only thing I use on my hair, love this stuff..

I think I have most of the Healthy Sexy Hair products in my bathroom right now. I'm a little obsessed with how great they are for my hair!

And when I do hair treatments and repair masques, I always use macadamia natural oil products!
