I just heard that fall Pixie Dusts are going on pre-order at the Zoya site next week! (July 15). Of course, we Canadians will have to wait a while for distributors to get them since the evil Hazmat laws make international shipping a PITA (pain in the ass), so most polish companies won't ship direct to international customers anymore.

But they are looking beautiful....

I loved their spring line of polishes (the originals) and their summer collection was adorable (especially the tangerine pixie Beatrix).

For those that haven't tried these yet - they're textured polishes with a shimmery glittery edge. They are not harsh or sandpapery (they're not going to snag on your clothes or anything like that). These are the most refined textures in the polish world at the moment and far outdo the ones that OPI has done in years past.

They are really fabulous. No base or top coat needed and they wear like rocks on your nails with no chipping for ages. I only had minor tip-wear something like 5 days later. It's also easier to do touch-ups if you have to because it's textured.

It's hard to pick an absolute favourite, but my heart beats the fastest for Zoya Dahlia - the black pixie. This is literally the most gorgeous thing to put on your nails for a night out with a sexy black dress and stiletto heels. It makes you feel like a total glamazon!

This is a matte black texture polish with tons of fine silver glitter. Up close it's like a black sand beach under the moonlight or looking up into a dark starry sky. Totally posh.

I loved the Zoya Irresistible Collection for Summer 2013. These foils are sooooo pretty.

The blood orange foil called 'Amy' is a particular favourite. It's loud on the nails but I would definitely nominate it for best pedicure colour of the season for the toes, especially with a light tan. It's spectacular.

Sometimes you can find a cheaper dupe. If anyone is jonesing for the green foil one, you can go for Hard Candy's Crush on Ivy. They are basically identical and Hard Candy is about half the cost of Zoya's version (Rikki). I can't speak for the difference in wear/chipping though. I don't own either shade at the moment. I believe Hard Candy is sold at Walmart.

Doll exposed me to Zoya recently. i was looking for some vegan friendly polishes (yes, there IS such a thing!) and she suggested the pixie dust collection knowing my love of all things glittery. thing is, like she said, sometimes the textured polished tend to be sand-papery or rough, so i took a little convincing, but yeah, i really like them. i, or should i say we (one of the advantages of being in a lesbian relationship is i get to share stuff with my wife) with the Pixie dust Summer collection - 6 colors for only $45, a great deal - it comes with Beatrix (orange) Solange (yellow-gold) Destiny (orange-red) Liberty (blue) miranda (rose pink) and Stevie (lavender). no green, but i'll get to that later. i LOVE the colors - they super glittery, they look amazing in sunlight and their mood changed in other lights. they mix well, go on smooth, and they're durable - they've certainly lasted longer then i have - i tend to change colors every 2-3 days...

anyways, easy to mail order through Amazon - we had to do a bit of travel to find a good retailer who carries them in the Seattle area - not talking road trip or anything, but yeah, it wasn't the corner store - that all said, when we did... 150 later... as Doll said, Dahlia, the black, is a must. they also have a really pretty white (godiva) something else i don't normally do. trixie is silver, goldie is gold... we got several shades of green and blue, a pink, red, i think there was a dark brown-coppery one that my wife took possession of immediately and i haven't seen since... i am not usually big on black polish but the Dahlia is amazing - it's the glitter - must be seen to be believed. i find myself looking forward to a reason to wear it to out and show it off, quite honestly. the metallics (gold and silver) are also quite beautiful. i think, tho, if i was to pick a current favorite it would be the Tallulah which is described as: Medium electric cobalt blue with fine bright aqua shimmer. it's just really pretty. of course, that is subject to change.

the picture really doesn't do it justice.

btw, they need to do a lemon yellow and name it Lizzy.

I'd never heard of this but I LOVE the colours!!! The sparkliness totally appeals to my magpie-like nature.

Might just go check them out right now...
They did a pretty yellow colour last spring called 'Piaf'. I think they called it a 'fresh forsythia yellow metallic'. It was specially designed for the Zang Toi fashion show. It would look amazing paired with silver french-mani tips in Trixie.

Incidentally here's a tip for the Canadians if you want to order polishes ---> nailpolishcanada.com
Free shipping over $25, a great selection and really amazing customer service. I've ordered from them many times now and I can vouch for them as being awesome.
re: 5 free - "ginger + liz" is also a wonderful vegan polish, if you're curious about checking out the really good stuff. smile

Zoya's New Fall line for 2013 - Cashmere and Satin also goes on sale on July 15th. I just saw the press release.

Pretty!

I love the satins the most. Those blue and emerald metallics are calling my name. I like the cellophane gold topper too. I love 'effects' polishes. It's like doubling your polish collection when you paint them over colours you already have. The camel coloured cream has potential too. I could actually see some really nice contrasting nail art with their cream collection in particular -or maybe a herringbone stamp of the darker colours over the camel. Hmmm...
