My wife recently had the Brazilian sugaring done. She said it was much less painful and invasive than waxing. I haven't tried it yet but probably will. Waxing is never fun just something done but better than shaving.
I've vaguely heard of it but my only issue is that I THINK it only removes hair above the surface of the skin. So you'd have to do it far more often than waxing. Is this the case? What's the procedure like anyhow? Anything beats shaving!
I'm Brazilian and just discovered what Brazilian sugaring is! Hahah lush is so educative... I've found that it's what I always did and thought was just called "warm waxing" (with a natural recipe).
It's possibly just marketing though, our nationality does seem to have an appeal on that matter. As it's warm/hot, the pores open, and it does hurt less.
Want more time between sessions and progressive result, with much less pain? Laser will give that. The downside are tattoos.
My understanding is that it is a procedure that removes hair at the root, so essentially, waxing without the wax. And given that it's a sugar paste, likely with a lot more mess than is to be encountered with waxing.
The only upside seems to be that for the DIY crowd, sugar paste is water soluble, and residue can be easily showered away. As my waxing is done at the hands of my aesthetician, this is not a consideration, and so...yah, no, not trying the sugaring.

Recently tried and yeah, Brazilian sugar waxing is much less painful than hot wax. Will definitely keep requesting at the salon, but only for intimates since it costs more and takes a bit longer.
