And the crowd does not go wild. I suppose they are a polite society.

That's the best outfield snag I've ever seen.

If I was that batter, I'd be like
subarashii!

Baseball is huge over there.

Are they even allowed to use the perimeter fence thingy like that? He wouldn't have caught it without the assistance of that.

As long as you don't throw your glove at the ball, you are allowed to do pretty much anything to catch the ball. If you leave the field to make a catch, the batter is out, but the runners get to automatically advance one base. Since his body stayed on the playing field side of the fence, it's legal.
Good catch, but I am a fan of the St Louis Cardinals and watched the Hall of Famer Ozzie Smith play shortstop like nobody could. That is why Card fans called him the Wizard.

I'll be here later if I find the best catch in my opinion by the Wizard. Trust me you will be in AW!!
This girl has/had mad skillz too!

Holy shit!!!!

As for the Japanese baller, I love the nonchalance of a spectacular play, wish american athletes would mirror it. The reason why I love watching Troy Polamalu.
I don't even pretend to understand baseball, but they were two AMAZING catches...made all the more special by each participants reaction to their own athleticism. Brilliant.
