Got a question for you wonderful folks here at Lush Stories. I know I'm not widely known on the forums, but I'd appreciate a little honest feedback. I play guitar, have been now for about a decade. Now, I started messing around with my guitar one night, doing hammer-on's and pull-off's with my right hand and keeping the beat on the body of my guitar with my left hand (I play left-handed). Anyway, she thought it sounded awesome and wanted me to record it and post it to YouTube, only I'm thinking it's not that difficult to do...

What I was wondering is, could you please watch it and let me know what you think? It'd be a big help in getting a good basis for my music (which I am trying to record and sell).

Here's the link:

If you could let me know, I'd really appreciate it smile
Be the change you wish to see in the world.
You do sound talented. Awesome playing a whole song with hammer-on's and pull- offs. Would there be a market for something like this? Who knows. Perhaps you should try it with a percussionist to see how that sounds before deciding.
We have some very talented guitarists here, hopefully they'll give you some thoughts on it as well.
Ian,

Not to sound to nit picky, but from what I hear you lost the beat a few times. I would agree that it's pretty cool however, you may want to practice with a metronome to maintain the same beat a little better.

All in all good stuff, I would imagine that your chord selection would be a little hampered by only playing with one hand. But good on you to post this to youtube, keep the videos coming!

What dude said, plus, write out the rhythm pattern or chord progression and focus on the one while letting the other flow. Seems the loss in beat happens when the beat follows/mimics the chords. Your left and right hand should be separate.

Otherwise, it grooves nicely.

peace
Interesting way to play the guitar.

You could use a sampler, and add layers upon layers, this guy seems fairly adept at it

Not bad at all bro! That was interesting. I agree with Dude, you would become very limited... but nevertheless its super interesting...

Rock on!
