Inflating a tire with WD40

I'd blow my dang face off! WD40 or anything else and I'd probably catch everything on fire.
guys lucky he didn't hurt himself or anyone else. Still it's an interesting way to inflate a tire!
That was very impressive!

I wonder though if the tire would just deflate again as the heated air cooled?
WTF! How does anyone even think to do this stuff???

Entertaining though....thanks Chef

All that really does is seat the bead to the rim. You still need to inflate the tire normally. It does work, though. We used to do truck tires like that but with white gas.
We used ether.
I saw a guy get burned real bad with ether one time.
I'll try that the next time I get a flat... or maybe I’ll just push the blue OnStar button.

Along the same lines, I heard if you use Fix-A-Flat, it ruins your tire. Is that true?
It will usually keep air in the tire as long as it is moving ,, but usually fails when it set still.
As said it doesn't inflate the tire just to get it back on when the bead pops off the rim I have seen it done before but it most deff ain't recommended for the inexperienced lol. It's actually kind of and old 4X4 trick.
I'm so glad the thread title didn't lead to another such story today...

No, but it makes repairing that flat (at the tire shop) a major pain in the neck.

I would be prone to use that product on a set of 40,000 mile rated radials, if I picked up a nail between the 25k and 40k point. Anything before that and I'd want to save the tread and get the tired fixed correctly (plug & patch) at a shop.

I was carrying Fix-a-Flat with me, whenever:

a) I was out ATV'ing and didn't have a spare on my rig.

b) I was driving around daily beaters with tires I purchased from the junkyard for $15 per.

I sure wouldn't put it inside my run flat tires.
