I haven't seen them as well as they do in AK, but I've seen them cover half the sky before. That's only happened twice, but the second time my son was with me. Glad he got to see it. It's like giant, colorful drapes that cover the sky, and they slowly shift and get brighter or dimmer. Quite a light show. The red colors are the rarest, too.
