Sorry to hear that. I had a logic board replaced in my MacBook Pro a while back and it cost me £400+
Downside of owning any Apple product.

I have several cloud storage accounts now for the essential files I couldn't afford to lose, plus I run an automated backup to external storage periodically using Synkron (free app):

Worth checking out as a time-saver.

They are expensive product to maintain, but I wouldn't want to use anything else. And they're so pretty.

I have a 27inch retina screen iMac, a MacBook Pro, two iPads and an iPhone 5, so I suppose I am a complete convert, although I also have a Samsung Galaxy Tab SM-T550 tablet and Galaxy S7 phone. I gave up Microsoft Windows years ago, and converted to Linux before I bought my Macs. When I have to use a Windows machine for some reason I get very frustrated by their slowness compared to a Mac. Software is cheaper for a Mac too.
