You guys are scaring me. I've just purchased a new laptop and it has Windows 10. Of course, I haven't even taken it out of the box because I'm still in mourning from the loss of my last one--it was an ugly seperation. But not to worry, I can't seem to keep one for longer than eleven months. It's become a major joke in my family.

In a couple of months, I'll probably replace this new one (I'm not even going to bother bonding this time) with a Mac.

Updated one machine to Windows 10. Love it.

avrgblkgrl Macs...yuck! Not a fan.
I update a 4 yr old laptop from 7 to 10 and love it. I just download the latest version which is like what used to be called a service pack but now MS just calls it an updated version. It is a heck of an update! Many changes, all for the good. Most you might not notice, depending on your OP Sys skill but 10 seems to be there best yet, IMHO.

I finally finished my upgrade today. MS kindly sent me the upgrade on 3.5 diskette since my PC is rather old. The upgrade took 3 months but all is well smile.
My son is running is running Linux Mint with xfce interface on a 3 year-old netbook right now and I am sorely tempted to say "eff you" to Microsoft. This implementation of xfce is enough like Windoze 7 to minimize the learning curve, much more customizable, and runs fast on a machine that was floundering under 7 so likely not a candidate for 8 or 10.
It is rather, ummm... alarming - is not too strong of a word to apply.

This might be the sort of corporate/government move which forces me to start to deal with Linux, while keeping Win7 alive for all software requiring a valid Windows OS to operate.

I know a lot of more-than-competent Windows admins and Unix/Linux professionals and none of them want to deal with the inherent hazards of Windows 10.

The same GQP demanding we move on from January 6th, 2021 is still doing audits of the November 3rd, 2020 election.
