If anyone is trying to avoid caffeine or coffee, I have a great Starbucks treat to suggest: Try a non-fat, no-foam, green tea latte, half sweetened with sugar-free hazelnut. It's extremely low calorie, little to no caffeine, and tastes like a dessert (rich and delicious). You just have to get over the fear of sounding high-maintenance when you order it.

Even more than high-maintenance I think I'd have to get over the fear of the barista questioning the presence of testicles in my trousers ordering that one....

Just tell her that you're ordering it for your girlfriend and then roll your eyes...
how's it going nicola?
Torture the data long enough and they will confess to anything.
Made it!

I don't have any urge to drink it again either. I've tried a few brands of decaf, some are pretty bad. Lavazza is still my favourite.

Well done Nicola, i actually get withdrawul symptoms if i dont get my caffine, realy bad headaches.
3 or 4 cup's a day was'nt that bad anyway ?? i usually drink at least 4 expresso and 7 to 10 strong black filtered a day, and i'v realy cut down to that in the last 12 months.
So well done again.

Will you remain coffee free now Nicola?
Giving up coffee was a must for me, because I was diagnosed with IBS and had a small ulcer. I used to drink it like it was water, had to stop when I noticed something was wrong. I'm two years strong without it, and I drink it only on occasion.

Wow...I must say that I have been so inspired by these stories that after this morning I intend to give up coffee for the rest of the year...

Not sure if I will actually make it...but, I'll give it a shot...

Did you make it ???????

Yes, for health reasons.

Try and take my red wine away, and that's a whole different story!

I'm not a big coffee drinker, so I decided to try one of these green tea lattes. I just get the regular one because I like fat, love foam, and hate sugar-free sweeteners. Anyway, I'm completely addicted to these. It's kind of ironic that a thread about giving up an addiction led to my own. I'll be sending you the bill, Doll.

They are better than coffee though, I agree!
I can't coz i'm a coffee junkie, can't survive without it
I was given a full strength coffee this morning by mistake. I am now shaky and feel awful.

It's amazing what your body gets used to.

Heavy heavy fuel...sounds like you could use some cigarettes. I can spare a few. You'll be right, in no time!

Thanks, but I've never smoked in my life (other than a few spliffs, a long long time ago).
Hey Nicola
Just across your coffee thread. Congrats by the way smile Sorry though to hear you had coffee. Hope you are feeling better.

I myself drink a latte maybe five times a week. Just one I promise lol.
There are some things in life too good to give up and I am afraid coffee is one of them! Having spent a good deal of time In France, Italy and Spain - where coffee is a way of life. Something that Starbucks will never understand

can't do it.... but down to one really good one a day!
thats kind of tough... or may be even impossible for me
I get sick from having coffee so I've taken it out of my diet.

Very rarely, I'll crave some but will remind myself what it physically does to me.
Well I hope I never figure out

wow .... I was coffee-less for a month when I was in the hospital.

Damn it!! I brewed a pot when I arrived home, sat down, and thoroughly enjoyed it on my patio!

If only I had known .....

nah .... :coffee
used to heart coffee soooooo much. couldnt start a day without it!!!
But now.... i get milk tea instead, tastes better and healthier :3
Fuck tea - coffee rules
I like having vices! They would have to pry that cup of caffeinated from my cold dead fingers! I also plan to drink cold beer and smoke cigars until I die. And ride motorcycles very fast!!!! My tombstone might read "His vices killed him, but he loved them so!" Also, I'd like one of those 'nudie silhouettes' engraved on my tombstone!!! Though I still want to be cremated and scattered over Sanford Stadium 'tween the Hedges."
I don't miss it at all actually. The physical problems it was causing, by far outweigh the positives.

It was easy for me to do, I am rather strong willed. Giving up wine on the other hand, that's an impossibility.
I just had my second cup of the morning!
